ONE impossibly heavy set. Push yourself until blood comes out of your asshole and you pass out

Then take 6 months off

let a pitbull bit off your triceps and bicep, eat the pitbull afterwards, muscles will regrow stronger and denser

i laugh like a demon thinking about how many retards fall for schizo mentzer motivational posting

To be fair, it is common to leave a lot in the tank at the gym or after a set. I always opt for a few low rep sets of whatever before going to some 8-12 bullshit. If it was so heavy then how much harder are you pushing the last rep vs first rep it just doesn't make any sense.

Explain how if you do 2 fucking reps that the first one is anything but a warmup I'll make myself a drink I wanna hear everyone's explanations for this fitness lie.

>i do 2 warm up sets of 10
>then i do a working set
>therefore i only did 1 set
>quality over quantity and thats why im big
>>
>>77295648
>1x2 is really more like a 1x1
>in a 10 rep set why not just do 5 reps if the first 5 are useless reps
>logically 1rms are the only way to significantly cause stimulus
Maybe not the only way and that high rep schemes ARE hypertrophy 90%, but if I don't hit my fresh 1rms and shit it feels like I'm losing a good amount of gains, even size wise so yeah that's my point.

And yeah I agree on quality sets, since most people don't lift quality enough to get big in the first place.
>I lift for strength
Jfc do both they benefit eachother.
>>
>>77295660
Anon my post was a joke post. Basically (Dorian) does three sets and thats why he has hypotrophy. But he claims he only does one or two working set as in not many sets.
>>
>>77295669
He has a lot of bigger photos I know he knows what's up and doesn't falsely depict his training much. Arnold and mentzer were known for doing other things in the gym than they let out at the time to have the training edge, although I might check out the arnold book.

Mine kind of is too but I was getting drunk thinking about things and realized what do the other reps even do? "All the growth on the last failure reps" is definitely a good take away ime.
>>
>>77295681
he was on roids like mentzer, you cant get big doing his routine it only makes sense on roids
>>
>>77295690
Sounds like cope

1 hard set feels miserable
>>
>>77295669
Nobody counts the warmup sets though, if you actually lifted you would know this.
If you are supposed to squat 200kg for 3 sets of 5 today you would do 20 kg > 60 kg > 100 kg > 140 kg > 180 kg AND THEN you would do the 3x5 200kg.

Nobody actually counts the warmup sets.
>>
>>77295629
Did you mean to say sets?
If doing 2 sets then 1st one is 1 rir and 2nd one is zero rir. Its real shrimple.
>>
>>77295625
I mean I learned from him to at least go to failure once per exercise. Going past failure with lateral raises also gave me capped delts.
>>
>>77295629
do you make this lie, saar?
>>
>>77296371
This. The entire thing where people count warmup sets is a cope. They're there just to make sure you're ready for the weight when you put in on your back. They only enable you to be able to do what it takes to progress/grow. They in themselves at best only contribute a very small portion of the stimulus to growth.
>>
>>77296426
You can do two sets to failure or even three. You'll just find out you'll be down a few reps. So with BP set 1: 7 reps, set 2: 5 reps, set 3: 4 reps.

The other reps force the brain to gradually recruit the large motor units as the smaller motor units generate metabolic products that hinder their contractions. In a 10 rep with a 10RM, the first 5 reps take care of the smaller fibers while the last 5 are using all the large motor units that otherwise wouldn't be recruited. Failure occurs because there are too many metabolic byproducts/"damage" in the muscle for it to be able to contract anymore in most of the muscle fibers. Since the largest motor units are the ones that grow the most, the last 4-5 reps tend to be the most stimulating as they stimulate mechanorecepter overload in the largest motor units.

That does ABSOLUTELY work. Excellent advice.
>>
>>77295612
his style of lifting isnt for everybody, you suffer
>>
>>77297066
The last rep is what counts though. If you always leave rir or never fail then you're leaving gains on the table.

>>77295612
He has been caught smoking meth and doing supersets
>>
>>77295629
>grease the groove
It's a good way to get more lifting packed into a day, total sets that are heavy to you. This is basically what you see in powerlifters and weightlifters. You focus on one lift for an hour only doing singles doubles and triples. It's an ultra strength oriented routine.
>>
>>77295612
>ONE impossibly heavy set
No.
You only need one HALF set, and to absolute failure.
Anything more than that is overtraining
>>
>>77298131
GtG has been debunked on several occasions...
>>
>>77295621
how many sets?
>>
>>77298355
This. Just 4 reps to absolute failure. Then 4 years of rest. This is the true Mentzer mindset

>>
>>77298360
Debunked? When I was 18 I weighed around 150 lbs. I had a pull up bar in my doorway and did 5-10 sets a day, never going above 5 reps. I progressed to the point that I had a 20 kg kettlebell on a dip belt in my doorway. After a few months I tested my max and did 22. I even did a single with my friend hanging off of me. He weighed about 130 lbs. GtG fucking works

Source? That's big if true. I could forgive the meth since it's completely irrelevant, but supersets are unforgivable.

Smoking cigarettes and meth were just him waiting for the gym rats to be done lifting or think it's more than his second set. Me personally I would get whatever drugs I can to get high before lifting for as long as possible. But him? He had as much meth and cigarettes as he wanted but the 80s bodybuilders were trying to jew his gains so he would wait until the perfect moment to bust out a set. Right when all the big guys were either leaving the gym or cranking one out in the bathroom.
