I'm at a healthy weight and I'm not doing this for a calorie deficit. I just want to give my body a break and sort of "clean things out." I already know about electrolytes and I'm making sure to drink plenty of water. Does anyone have any other tips for a fast this long?
>>77299498Have done a 6 day dry fast. The biggest piece of advice I cam give is just have no obligations. By day 4 taking care of my kids was brutal.
>>77299498Get yourself into ketosis before you start, it makes it easier. You should've maybe tried a shorter one first, but if you've got electrolytes and willpower maybe it'll be ok.
>>77299498For best results, also abstain from sin, abstain from ejaculation, and spend the entire time praying. You will likely become a prophet by the end of it.
>>77299498I've done two weeks, but I was fat so it was easy. If you're lean it'll be much more difficult.
>>77299498>I just want to give my body a break and sort of "clean things out."That's not how your body works. You have been memed.
>>77299525I think I’m just going to stay in bed all day.
>>77299498I did several water fasts, from one to two weeks.Start when you're determined and stick to it. Some people experience nausea on day 3, for some others it's joint pain. Either way it's from lack of electrolytes and not just sodium (potassium and magnesium too). I found hunger to be less of a problem than missing taste and meal regularity so I coped with tea and savory infusions.I could do intellectual work and hiking no problem. In fact I had better endurance than my satiated friends on the hike. I also did yoga daily and was a lot more flexible, probably due to depletion of glycogen and water in the muscles.Never had trouble breaking the fasts. Meat, cheese, no problem. I could have eaten less, or more calorie dense to keep the shrinked stomach and regain more slowly (took many months to go back to starting weight anyway).Once I tried an initial purge to enter ketosis faster and it wasn't worth it.
>>77299663*Also, I had to nap a lot more than usual.
>>77299498>Does anyone have any other tips for a fast this long?Around blacks do NOT relax
>>77299663Did you feel cold? I hate summer when it gets over 30 and it'd be a big plus if a fast made the heat more bearable.
>>77299965Sadly you going to have to endure the heat pajeet
FEET
>>77299663>purge to enter ketosisWhy would purging get you to ketosis? You still need to deplete the glycogen reserves.
>>77299498That's a meme anon.You can't "cleanse" your body with a 1 week fast.I recommend fasts, but only 24hr ones.
>>77299498>completed a week-long fast?
>>77300269What an odd thing to post.
>>77299498I've done 4 days but had to stop because I had a headache so fucking bad I literally couldn't sleep until I ate something. The balancing act with electrolytes is a bitch, anyone can buy snake juice but I swear it's still not enough.
>>77300269Wait. Muslims can be gay now?
>>77299498Yeah I couldn't sleep. My max was 4 full days, taking electrolytes and salt and water of course. I would be careful doing extreme stuff all of a sudden. Also it's better to be free for the days you are gonna fast, nothing of big responsibility you might feel dizzy and shit so careful I almost got ran over by a car one time.
my max was 7 day dry + 7 day water fasti used Bulgarian orthodox tech to do itthe week before "strict fasts" they do "sirna sedmica" which means cheese weekbasically for a whole week all you eat is cheese, fish and veggies (basically ketosis)
>>77299498I never tried fasting but I quit keto because I was going all day without being hungry and it freaked me out.
>>77299532>20 hours deep in fast, forgot what hunger feels like>ejaculate>get hungry instantlyI wonder if this is because of the metabolic demand of producing new sperm cellsBut yeah, don't do it
>>77300338muhammad was BLACKED by random men, muslims are the gayest motherfuckers on earth
>>77299498i dont normally respond to israeli baitposts meant to reactivate my eating disorder but your digits were good and your pic was aesthetic so ill bite72 hours of a water fast is plenty to clear your system out. any more will put unnecessary stress on your body. if you want to fast longer, consider a juice fast (only healthy liquid calories).drink hot water at night. even better, boil it with a cut up apple (bring water to boil then add cut up apple pieces with skin on, bring down to a simmer and sit for 10-15, remove apple pieces). its an old Chinese gut cleanse trick, tastes like shit but will clear you out like a laxative in the morning.sleep. take a nap, sleep 10 hours at night, time spent sleeping is time not thinking about food and it’s actually not hard to fall asleep on an empty stomach, you just wake up a bit earlier in the morning than usual. if you are lying down and need to sit up, count 1,2,3 and then slowly sit up. same thing from sitting to standing. this will keep you from fainting. but don’t be too scared of fainting, you can kind of bring yourself to your knees before fading out and it’s fun, feels like trying to tread water in a lake of syrup.other than that, it’s all about discipline. you can prepare all you want but if you’re a wimp, you will find a way to break the fast within the first 24 hours (the hardest period). when it gets tough there are two types of people in this world, those who ask for a lighter burden and those who ask for a stronger back. be the latter.
I’ve completed multiple 7+ day water fasts. It helps if you have a girlfriend or wife to lash out at mentally abuse. Not kidding.

>>77299498I did my first fast back in 2018 and I went full-send with it, 10 straight days only water and electrolytes. Haven't done a traditional calorie-counting cut ever since. Nowadays I typically do about 5 days at a time. Never more than 7. Past 7 is when I started noticing actual strength loss. I feel liberated. I typically do OMAD as my standard 'diet' and don't concern myself at all about how much I eat in my window. And if I start feeling a little soft I fast for a few days. Which I only end up needing to do maybe like 2-3 times a year.
>>77299498My record is over 3 days dray fasting, and 17 days water and electrolytes fasting.Tips:When your body enters a deep enough fasting state, you need to move to get energy. You moving makes your body break down fat so you get energy. Go for a walk, or use a light dumbbell unless you have a home gym.Lift 40% of regular weight. Too heavy lifting weight will make you want to break the fast.Avoid carbs, especially sugar, and fat when breaking the fast. Sugar can kill you after a long fast. A cm cut from a cucumber is OK for breaking the fast. After breaking the fast, wait a bit before you eat again. Ignore the initial hunger, your system isn't ready yet.Have a bit of red wine hours after breaking your fast. It helps prevent diarrhea. (Read 1 Timothy 5:23 if you are a Christian and believe all alcohol is forbidden)
>>77299498I really like this image. Reminds me of being a kid and looking out the window without all the baggage of being an adult
>>77300269Is this real?
>>77300338All religions are subject to globalization, but it's a bit early for clips like that to be real, probably just actors pushing propaganda
>>77299965Maybe a little colder but I tolerate cold and heat quite well. I never fasted in full summer so I can't tell you.>>77300242To clear undigested food. It didn't make any significant difference, hence wasn't worth it. >>77300448 is probably a better way to enter ketosis quicker. Also, I kept getting the occasional social drinks, just had dry wine instead of beer. It just pauses burning fat until you have no more alcohol in your system. I never did more than a couple standard drinks. After I started lifting consistently I tried a modified fast where I would get my proteins in the form of a fat free carb free milk product for the elderly. It was to try to keep lifting and progressing during the fast but it was less effective as regular fast in fat burning and I couldn't make gains. So next time I'll stick to regular fast and resume regular lifting after.
I did an 8 day water fast. Gained it all back and more within a few days.
>>77303377Did you buy chance overeat?
>>77299498>Has anyone ever successfully completed a week-long fast? Yes.
>>77300884I know I phrased the post as if I was joking but I was actually serious. All of these things are linked together somehow. I suppose that one form of abstinence reinforces another when backed by religious motivation; and collapse of motivation into hedonism is not usually a single event but a chain of dominos. Most people who have tried no-fap will tell you, they can go for x weeks then relapse once, and then immediately think "well I fucked up, better get it all out of my system and start fresh" then go on a fapping spree. The same thing probably applies to multi-domain events like fasting + abstinence.Anyways, a general cultivation of an atmosphere of systemic self control and austerity from pleasure is the best environment for a successful fast.
>>77303613I've had sex, weed and alcohol on week long fasts np. My brother breaks his with junk food np. You can be into fasting without making it an ordeal. It seems a fast is broken on 450 kcal a day. I guess if you exercise enough it doesn't even break on that.
>>77300884Immediately upon ejac all aggression ceases and I just wanna eat. And people still deny retention works
The most I've done is 48 hours dry fast. I wouldn't do further than 72 hours. Even if you're very obese, there are diminishing returns to fasts longer than three days. It's better to do 48 or 72 hours, have a small meal, and do another 48 or 72 hours.
