How do I force myself to train legs?
Im always dying from fatigue and dreading every leg day
>>
legs have unironically become my favourite day and they are so easy. just keep it simple, keep the number of exercises small
>>
>>77303336
But then they won’t grow? Both squats and leg press insanely tire me
I enjoy leg extensions and leg curls but feel like they don’t do much
>>
>>77303328
learn to do the workouts properly
start with lower intensity and increase frequency as you master them
when you start doing high intensity leg days or high volume leg days then you can decrease the frequency for more recovery

and get your cardio up
>>
>>77303339
longer breaks inbetween sets, doesnt matter how long, it can be like 5 minutes,
>>
>>77303340
I’ve been lifting for 16 years and my bench is above 3pl so i’m not a novice. Doing cardio too, 15-20min in zone 4 after every workout
Just my legs are lagging compared to chest and back. When I go heavy I feel really shitty during and between sets. Only talking about leg press and squats/hack squats.
Another issue is Im always worried I don’t go low enough but not low enough to damage my lower back.
>>77303346
Yeah that’s how I do it currently. Same for bench and weighted pullups
>>
>>77303360
i do low weight for high rep sets
>going low enough
only go as low as you feel comfortable
>>
>>77303365
Yeah i guess low weight and high reps is what I should try
>>
>>77303328
enjoy feeling like shit
it'll make you unstoppable
>>
>>77303328
>b00bs
zoomers are so cucked
>>
>>77303380
yeah and low rep high weight, what you are aiming for is the opposite of a fatigued feeling, you should feel fresh after

>How do I force myself to train legs?
I don't do leg day anymore, i only have an ass day when i do BSS. They suck even harder, it's possibly the suckiest exercise of them all, but i remind myself ass is actually important, even on a man, and that assmogging your surroundings is crucial to living a satisfying life. You only need your legs to not be completly dyel, which BSS cover as well, but a good ass inspires both awe and fear in men and women alike. No one respects a hank hill ass.

As an added bonus I'm also physically immune to ass rape, no force in existence could pull my cheeks apart without my consent at this point. I can only be raped visually by ugly women entering my field of view.
>>
>>77303414
>I'm also physically immune to ass rape, no force in existence could pull my cheeks apart without my consent at this point
beware the arms race between anon doing BSS and rapists doing hip thrusts
>>

>>77303443
Hip thrusts alone are not enough, you need to do pull aparts for optimal rape performance. With how unpopular the motion is, I remain way ahead in the race, my ass is running circles around the modern rape battlefield. Remember, it's rape or be raped.
>>
>>77303328
I used to dread leg day but I realized I was essentially doing rest pause sets for my compounds. Like I would lift until failure, lock my legs out for 10-20 seconds, bang out more reps to failure, etc until I couldn't lift anymore. This builds up a lot of fatigue. Now I just keep tension on my quads and lift until I have 0-1 RIR and leg day is just like any other day.
>>
>>77303654
>until I have 0-1 RIR
How do you calculate? It's easy for me on back and chest days (bench has safeties) but for example in case of leg press how to properly fail?
>>
>>77303328
That's good. You should be fatigued after exercising your largest muscle groups. Legs and glutes alone constitute over half your body muscle, so one exercise that hits those muscle groups is going to wipe out your body the same as exercises that hit your chest, core, back and arms.
Keep at it, if not just for metabolic health.
>>
>>77303339
>But then they won’t grow?
Legs are the easiest body part to grow. It's basically free gains.
>>
>>77303328
>no titty shot to see what she's describing
stupid bitch
>>
>>77303660
I've been lifting so long I just know. My last rep is really slow and grindy and I know if I attempt one more I will either barely lock out or fail. I also always go to failure on my last set.
>>
>>77303414
BSS is great for quads too. It's superior to squats and hip thrusts in every way.
>>
>>77303339
I do literally half volume and lower intensity on legs and they still grow faster than my arms lol
>>
>>77303328
Do heavy squats-deadlifts instead of whatever bullshit this whore is doing. Do low volume high load. Like 3x3. Pursue some kind of evaluation to know what's teh right load for you, if in doubt start with half your bodyweight and add 10kg every week.
>>77303336
For me it was until it wasnt'. i'm 40. Heavy squats give me hangovers. I recently switch to a 5/3/1 program for squats and deadlifts once a week and it seem to be not hurting me anymore, but it's too soon to know if I'll get any progress.
>>
>>77303339
>Both squats and leg press insanely tire me
That is the point. They are the biggest muscles in your body. Squats in particular are the single most important lift for hitting as much muscle mass as possible in a single movement. Heavy squats are so taxing on your system that it forces systemic effects on your entire body, forcing central nervous system and hormonal adaptations that will build strength and muscle everywhere.
>>
>>77303336
>legs have unironically become my favourite day
Same just make sure you put the same amount of effort you do as the upper body days. You can do this by either having an extra can of monster and blast some white girl music. Also you have to squat because you need to be breaking pr's consistently so you have something to work for.
>>
>>77303763
Also: squats and deadlifts are essential for building functional strength. Even if you do a load of curls and bench presses and have big arms and chest, without strong legs and a strong back, your big upper body is going to be useless. A person with strong legs and back can actually go out in the world and pick things up and move them. Without that, you can't actually be strong unless you're sitting or lying down, which isn't an organic situation.
>>
>>77303328

chase the feeling, then chase the reps. chase the weight once in a while. you talk as if you have super thick legs, but the reality is not up to ur expectations. you are not growing despite feeling of trying, and this is why you are bitching about on 4chan like a low iq n00b
>>
Watch Tom Platz videos
>>
>>77303654
Keeping tension is key and its why the patricians choice is the leg extension for 8-10 reps.
>>
just do this:

Leg Extensions 2x5-10
Hamstring Curls 2x5-10
Abductor Machine 2x5-10
Calf Raise 2x5-10
Hip Thrust 2x5-10

Free weight shit especially on leg days is just not worth it for most adults

eat more lol and go weighted hiking
fat people have massive quads and calves when they lose weight (like me) i have bodybuilder tier legs without ever training them just because i was a fatty all my life

>>
>>77303328
>squat 5rm(not doing more for legs) is 1pl8 above bench
I'm not doing legs
>>
>>77303837
Explain what's missing
>>
>>77303921
Not him, but I like to double the amount of hamstring/hip hinge work compared to quad work on leg days in general due to having to sit at work for prolonged periods of time.
I'd imagine most people are in a similar situation where they are primarily sedentary throughout the day (sitting more than 8 hours per day) and they could benefit from increased hamstring work.
>>
>>77303943
i think this thread overanalyzes what needs to be done. Just squat heavy on the 4-6 rep range then do some hypertrophy work with hamstring curls (seated are better) and either do some leg press sets on 8-10 reps for 2-3 sets but go hard then do some calves if you feel like it and call it a day. It's literally this simple. Do this x2 per week or x3 if you are a neet who is bulking.
>>
>>77303943
>leg raises
>front squats
>narrow stance squat and deadlift
It's pretty easy to neglect quads, they're like the triceps of legs you kinda have to be hammering them.
>>
>>77303949
>big legs
I just want athleticism and to be able to do more upper body shit every day. Legs should be skipped if your priority is to be fresh for heavy weight more often. Idk how people do so much leg work for so many years it gets redundant and wears you down.
>>
>>77303951
My quads generally get plenty of work (squatting 455 for 3x5 for my working sets, with about 5 warmup sets, followed up with zercher squats obviously much lighter weight).

I just like hammering heavy RDLs and nordic curls in addition to the seated hamstring curls. I don't feel like the hamstring curls alone are enough for me to be balanced.
>>
>>77303956
>I just want athleticism
>Legs should be skipped
>>
>>77303972
>squat more
The bench wr is 800 and the squat is about 1000. Yes if anything I would prefer to have a strong upper body than constantly hindering my bench numbers by making out legs multiple times a week.
>>
how do people not enjoy training legs???
>>
>>77304723
Fear of injury, ankles, knees, lower back pain, lack of mobility

>I think she's 30...
>>
>>77303328
You can just break down the legs into a group per day, and then it just becomes one exercise to go along with your normal routine. Do leg curls on back day, leg extensions on chest day, and throw in a glute exercise with your arm day. Legs dont need to be as jacked as other body parts, so you can just do two sets without going insane with the weights. No one is going to care or notice but you. If you're not too tired you can always add an exercise set or another exercise for two sets.

Arnold used to wear very short shorts when he trained to make himself look at his skinny legs and feel embarrassed by them as he trained them hard repeatedly till they were big

I do this. I wear shorts a bit above my knees and train them hard. They have made a lot of progress since first began this.

She could easily have grown wide hips and have grown boobs if she got pregnant at ~18, and she would have subsequently far easier pregnancies afterward, but instead she terminally tries to unnaturally looksmaxx her body with male bodybuilding techniques, her DNA is probably thinking "oh shit the husband and every man in the village died, I have to push this plow or I'll die too" and now it's halfway trying to compensate and become manly

>>
>>77303328
I gym 6 days a week and hit legs twice in a week. I think of leg training as giving my upper body a rest day. Plus, hitting heavy compounds like squats actually boosts your test and growth hormone that your whole body takes advantage of. So by skipping legs you’re unironically leaving upper body gains on the table.

Leg press or hack squat. Problem solved. I prefer the leg press while switching the weight with a pin for sheer laziness.

Probably overtraining and undereating.
If you're fatigued and dreading lifting, you're not recovering enough.

I can effortlessly max out any non-plate loaded leg press for like 50reps. One-legged is an option but feels uncomfortable
I mostly do plate-loaded leg presses now, rarely squats
>>77307310
Maybe, I’ve been working out 4-5 days a week for the last year. but strangely no such problem with chest and back
>>
>>77307335
>Maybe, I’ve been working out 4-5 days a week for the last year. but strangely no such problem with chest and back
I haven't read the thread. How old?
You're probably just overdoing it on legs, because it's easy to move a lot of heavy weight with big leg muscles that you're not doing with back (probably your grip is failing on deadlift before your back, I'm guessing?) and chest (inherently scary to fail a benchpress).

Cut back on leg volume over a week, either by doing less reps with heavier weight or by adding an extra rest day in between leg days. Also consider eating a bit more the night before leg day and in your meal before leg day. Just like 200-300kcal, mostly carbs, to give yourself a bit more of an energy boost.

Also, do you really NEED to train legs? Think about what your goals are. Only competitors really need a 4pl8 squat.

Just do them.

You might have some muscles that need to be activated I ran into that issue early on try adding Romanian Deadlifts if your hamstrings are suddenly firing then that was your issue.
