Do wide grip pullups build a wider back?
>>77306056don't care, just need female ass farts near my mouth and nose holes
>>77306059Sick
>>77306059Fpbp
>>77306059How many sets?
>>77306082One gigantic fart to failure.
will these fix my pullups?
>>77306056No. Hammer grip, shoulder width.
>>77306228How do I do hammer grip if I only have a straight bar
>>77306228Hammer grip pull ups are significantly easier for me, compared to wide grip. I would assume it's the same for other guys. Shouldn't the harder exercise make the back wider versus the easier exercise.
>>77306268No
>>77306056No. In fact, this pic of franco well illustrates how wide grips limit the full ROM of a movemement. Look at his humerus. It is not fully extended at either the top or bottom of the range. Therefore, the lats, while defintely under a lot of tension, are not contracting or extending fully. This is probably notideal for full development. Franco had incredible lats - look ath his lower insertions. Amazing., But thats a function of genetics, not exercise sleection or execution.Normies should strive for full rom with a reasonable, comfortibale width grip. This will allow for the longest amount of time under tension as well as the production of the greatest amount of force and power. If one gets very strong and is capable (genetically) of looking wide, you can well demonstrate or show off your strnegth and look with wide grip pull ups, as they are indeed very hard to eprform. But they are hard to eprform because they limit strength with an akward angle, not cultivate it.In my opinions,. full ROM chinups (palms facing face) with a stretch at the bottom, fully engage the lats and build the most back size.
>>77306525You think chins are better than pullups? I find them easier
The best pullup variant to build a bigger back is any one of them with added weight.
>>77306595I can only do 5 with my bodyweight @ 206 lbs. Should I keep trying to add reps before I add weight?
>>77306178These with a straight bar overhand grip have helped my teres pop up, a wide back is not only wide lats.
>>77306634Yeah I’d get to 10 first, you can definitely still get some mileage out of bodyweight.
>>77306582Yes. They are. Thats a feature, not a bug. They allow one to generate more force AND do more volume - reps and sets. This means the potential for grwoth is greater. If the smallest link in the chain gives out before you can exhaust the lats (and in pullups its usually the grip/forearm/brachialis) you stop doing the pullups and the lats never get fully exhausted. Chinups eliminate that weak forearm link and let your lats get a more exhausting volume of work.
>>77306634You spam that shit till you can do multiple sets of 7 to 10 and max out 20 if being zesty. Dont overthink, spam basic movements. Then you do either more per set, or as much in less time.
Is there any drawback to doing pullups on a bar (tree branch) that I can't get my hand all the way around to grip? I kinda claw/hook my hand on the top of it.
I have been doing wide grip pullups making zero progress. I can do weighted chins but only a few bodyweight wide grip pullups. I switched to narrow grip recently and not only can I crank out more reps but I feel it more in my back and less in my biceps. I think wide grip is a meme and just puts you in a mechanically weaker position with. No actual benefit. However, I've heard different takes from different people, so it may be an anatomy thing.
>>77306056i will do anything for wider latswhen i t-pose in the mirror my torso is like a 2x4. i have an "I" taper. i do not have a taper. i do t-bar rows, lat pulldowns, v-bar lat pulldowns, underhand machine pulldowns, and it's getting thicker, but not wideradvice for what to add/change?

>>77307175Chin-ups it is then
>>77306178Doing pull-ups helps pull ups. Also remember you should be putting all your weight on the outside of your hand like youre trying to bend the bar in half
>>77307016This is the philosophy behind using straps for deadlifts instead of training grip, yeah? I want my weak links to get stronger, so I can actually perform the movement of pulling myself up like I would on a branch or wall. If I want to really focus on lats other exercises exist.
>>77307687are straps for pull-ups a thing?
>>77306082ideally he would have a gassy foid farting into a hose attached to his nose and mouth 24/7
>>77307730yeah, some people use them sometimes. same with lat pulldowns or rows, if you want to take your grip strength out of the equation.
>>77307789>greasing the groove
>>77307796yes, precisely. perhaps even gassing the groove.
>>77307035yes, you're gonna fuck up your fingers/tendons of your hand most likely
>>77307073probably bad technique. "break" the bar and control your elbows, they should not be wide but instead they should go in the direction of your pants pockets
>>77309200Would he not adapt like climbers with their hangboards?
