Ghd machine is the best if you can do it with proper form and hold onto a couple of plates. It has the best hamstring activation. If not then the seated but then again you'll need 2 excersies if you want to get at least 10 sets for the muscle group per week.

I use the laying one for big numbers and the sitting one for more finessed full rom work since it's not a great fit for me.

I've never used one of these where the lever arm wasn't loose and distributed the weight unevenly between legs. The only recourse is to do one leg at a time and if I was gonna dick around with unilateral shit i would just do split squats.
