Last thread was really comfy, let's keep going bros. Today I'm doing pull-ups, bicep and forearm work. Had a day off and I made a 2.0 version of my wrist curl contraption - add a grip training module, and a stand for dumbbells, fatgrips and a pronator made of a plumbing muff, a kiddie bike chain and a broken snow sweeper handle.
>>77311553Tf is that piping shit on top?
>>77311575>Dyel! In the thread! Thought you ought to know.
>>77311607Niggas be wylin
>>77311575That, my dear African American friend, is a handle for pronation movement, made of iron tubing connectors.I have added a board and a pad to do arm wrestling'ish arm movement.
>>77311641Cool idea my caucasian friend
i found empty room in my apartmant complex, it was used long time ago to dry clothes... im from eastern europe and i didnt have money for plate holders so thats what im using the shopping carts for
>>77311866Last time I've seen your setup you didn't have a rack? Haven't you? Really nice nicca, find a welder and order him a rack.
rate my setup

>>77311942Wood/10
im locked out of my garage so i cant take a pic (the cable ripped and stripped so cant turn the handle) and its been a week since i lifted (supposed to test my 1rms and now im contemplating sewage slide)
Should I pick up welding or should I just stick to wood?
>>77312319Dude we're on /fit/ the gayest board ever of course you should stick to the wood. Seriously, if your setup fits you, I don't see a reason to change.
>>77311553That looks really well made, I've never bothered to train forearms >>77311866They don't look like they're holding anything, it's time to return them.>>77311954Pretty cluttered but really niceI added a second hand mirror in January, haven't made or wanted any changes since so I think I can consider it "complete"
>>77311553Cool machines but not the best construction. Are those butt joints with 1 screw crossing each other? That's what it looks like. Probably won't matter with low weights. How much do you lift with the forearm crushing thing? >>77311641Improvement.>>77311942Solid.>>77312541Where is this? Looks like an old castle or something.
>>77312714>Where is this? Looks like an old castle or something.East France, >200yo barn
>>77311553If you have 3/4" pipe and fittings laying around then that's awesome but if not it probably would be cheaper to just buy the shit at this point. I built a power rack from 4x4s during covid thinking it would be cheaper and for like 25% more I could've just bought a fuckin metal one. I'm retard
>>77312541I see some improvements. Tell me homeboy, do those walls keep the temperature down? What's the average temperature outside and inside your gainzcastle?>>77311947How much did you pay for that rack homie?>>77311951>>77311954Based mogging unc. How's your day sir?
God I love /HGG/ you boys are good value.
>>77311947Bruh where's the timber? This is /HGG/
>>77312791I had a pile of 1,5x2" wood laying for ages and those pipes and fittings cost me less than 40$. I'm honestly amazed how awesome this whole contraption is, the only thing I must improve is to make some kind of knurling on the biggest pipe for improving the grip, everything else, the pronation and gripper module, the height of the whole thing and how sturdy it if when it comes it's weight is perfect. Yesterday, I did 3x20 curls on both flexors and extensors, 4 series of gripping (20reps with each hand + 20reps both hands), 2x12 side pressure arm wrestling style movement and 2x10 pronations on each hand. My arms were so pumped and swollen I couldn't pinch the skin.
>>77312541All the clutter you see goes outside before each hurt locker sesh, then we throw shit around.>>77312808My day is fine, how about you? Fuck, Im an unc. 47. 48 next week. Its good and bad. Theres shit I did years ago I couldnt imagine doing now.picrel is results from my hg
>>7731271430kgs with each palm for like 15-20 times and another 20reps with both palms. I had a pic related gripper in my car (the spring just broke one day lol) and it had supposedly 45kgs on maximum spring tension, but this 30kgs feels way heavier.
>>77312859Is there any free weight exercise that you consider similar? Have you noticed size gains?I have the same ones, they're funny. I can do like 60+ reps with "60kg" but I know I'm not that strong. >but this 30kgs feels way heavier. It would be as it's 30kg from the beginning of the rep where as the spring reaches it's most difficult point when you're at your strongest/end range of motion.
>>77312959>Have you noticed size gains? Can't honestly tell, because I made the gripper like 2 weeks ago, but from what I feel and see, it appears that my forearm gest girthier near the wrist unlike while doing wrist curls that make my forearms swollen near the elbow area. Heck, I have to do some measurements and photo evidence to be 100% certain. Spring grippers are awesome for having them in your car and pumping them forearms just before going to the office. >as the spring reaches it's most difficult point when you're at your strongest/end range of motion.Yeah you're right, but I have to say with my DIY gripper the final fractions of a inch are the hardest, but it's because of the physiology of the forearm muscles.
I want to buy some farmers handles
I don't even use any of the barbells on the pic, just one adjustable dumbbell. Not included in the pic: roman bench for back extensions + some clutter like pushup handles, ab roller, resistance bands, grippers and some other shit.I also have a stationary bike in another room and sandbags stashed away waiting for their turn.I don't think I'm gonna need anything else, I stopped giving a fuck about powerlifting ages ago and focusing on weighted closed chain exercises is definitely not worse at developing muscle tissue and athleticism.
>>77313081 >weighted closed chain exercisesDefinitely better for your joints, and if your BF is low enough you still got bishes.

What do you guys do to combat the heat if you have a setup in the garage? Outside of buying one of those portable gigacoolers, are you just destined to endure the heat and sweat your ass off?
>>77313837I have insulated my garage ceiling with 10cm rockwool slabs designed for underground garages. It's 100x20cm and it has milled edges so it creates an aesthetic effect. It was stupidly easy to cut and mount, and it's already impregnated/soaked from one side so it doesn't even need to be painted. I had an idea to paint it blue so I can feel like I'm lifting outdoors, kek. It made my garage the coolest and most soundproof chamber in the house.
>>77313726Im doing what I can! Shoulda done this shit 20 years ago! I have pain in my left shoulder and cant really bench press anymore. I do dumbbells instead, mainly.>>77313807It goes fast! Im the old weirdo now, were I to go to a bar or a rave or something. I have ZERO desire to do either and I cant imagine 20 years ago I thought life would be one big party....many wasted years...picrel is me starting out... I was BIG.
>>77313837Portable window units are trash but maybe acceptable if you only use it a few hours a week. The bigger problem is there probably isn't a good way to set up the hose. The best but most expensive solution is a mnisplit, which would also work for heating.
>>77314046Meant portable a/c units. Window units are better than portables but likely not possible at all for a garage.
>>77313884Sweet disco ball.
Home gyms are so great. Lifting and tv during rest.>>77313837Also suggesting a minisplit or at least those window units. Don't bother with portables.
Building a set up in my parents' basement, does this look like it's worth 200? Off FB marketplace: "Versatile home gym setup. Power rack has barbell with weight plates and weight bench. Black rubber mats are included."

I built a home gym during covid, tried to buy quality equipment but mostly bought what I could since most things were selling out almost immediately after restocking.Ended up with some ok but entry level adjustable bench that I just never liked and that I sold recently. The plan was to get a nice and very sturdy flat bench since I never really used the incline anymore. Now I just need to order a new one but I keep second guessing myself about getting a good adjustable bench just in case.I could afford a fancy adjustable one I just don't like buying more than I need and I like the idea of a bench that's easy to move and not caring about gaps and stability and so on.
>>77316145Even for the home market there are many good adjustable benches. They don't have much pad gap and are very sturdy. Most of them are fairly light with wheels on one end and can be stored vertically. Only the most expensive overkill options are seriously heavy.
>>77316145We're living in a time and age where adjustable benches are extremely versatile and sturdy at the same time. Unless you have a big ass 50m2 plus home gym and a setup for more than one bench simultaneously, there is simply no point of buying a flat bench. The other thing is that 150$ makes a difference between a okish bench and a piece of equipment that your grandkids will inherit (unless of course you're a disgusting, seed spilling into other men anuses faggot sodomite deviant).
>>77316270Awesome bench, but the microwave is the best.>Superseting squats with hot pockets.
>>77316145What did you build?
>>77316289>diyfag seethingNobody cares about your stolen valor just because that word can be used so generically.
>>77316276It is a nice bench, rep ab4100, I really like it. If I could find one insignificant thing to bitch about it would be that the seat angle maxes out at 20 degrees, 30 would be nicer. Chef mike rarely gets used. The real workhorse of my kitchen is the mini convection oven/air fryer next to it, that shit is great. The actual oven only gets used a few times a year. Also I'm more of a pizza bagel guy.
