Cursed with 3 and a 4 finger gap. How tf do we deal with this brehs? It seems like only focusing on the long head of the triceps is my cheat code to have any chance of looking dyel. I have 14" arms unflexed and 15" flexed, wtfuck!!>5'6 165lb btwI've read about hammer curls and working out forearms but my pitch ass elbows are starting to hurt from them. Think it's time to kms
>>77312251Imagine your great grandfather having his finger broken while breaking a horse as a 16 year old, and just as his uncle sets it for him, he looks up and asks>How do I deal with having a three finger bicep gap?Anyway, it's fine, you'll probably have a nice peak. Focus more on not lifting for 3 weeks then quitting for 6 and doing that forever
>>77312251What are the advantages of a long bicep over a short one? Not talking asthetics, I mean mechanically.
>>77312677Force output is better in longer bicep. The advantages of short bicep are mainly aesthetic, the generally develop higher peaks and can be noticable faster. In sprinters with high calf muscle inserts, the longer tendon length allows for a generally faster sprinter, as it is more elastic than muscle and acts as a rubber band.I don't believe there is a similar thing with biceps.Just lift bro I got tall short ceps too, it's fine
>>77313309It depends on the leverages of muscles/tendons and of the bones to determine. Afaik torquey is the opposite of speed/athleticism. Fast runners and high jumpers rarely are heavy lifters but also are typically not good builds for strength unless your sport is more geared for hybrid athletes in a sense of speed+strength.
>>77313332I have the last part wrong, I mean that someone who can move a lot of weight is typically not going to be as naturally capable at feats of athleticism that usually benefit from being lighter. But a more athletic person has less torquey leverages that can reach higher speeds like an atlatl or how a trebuchet is designed to reach max speed.
>>77312677I have way better pulls with long bicep. However I have way weaker isolation with long bicep. All the dudes I know with golf ball biceps can curl way way more than I do idk why, but it's the same anywhere I go.
>>77313352Just kean back and use the stretch/bounce reflex and make it not look like that's what you're doing and also make it to your new most used technique so that is what you excel at. Easy way to start mogging people at their own game.
>>77313360>moggingif you care about showing off to other men you've already lost the game.
>>77312251How is this bad ? I never understood.Im admittedly high body fat but have full biceps, i know guys with higher or similar bf or/and lower musculature who have "high" insertions yet both flexed the short bicep looks fuller and more "popping". Taking pictures from the back is also bad since it just blends until i cut and makes me look like all i ever do is deadliftThis is on an even lower level of whining than complaining over a chest gap
>>77313352You could honestly beyond negate the effects of biomechanics if you have muscle maturity and drilled a movement. I grew up spamming pullups for no reason and back is by far my strongest point while having not even taking it seriously over the last few years.
>>77313366Well sometimes it's just what you have to do if you wanna be able to use the bench when you need it. If you let him mog you all day he's just gonna twist your ripple and slap you super hard a bunch of times until you step up and literally be the bigger man by lifting more weight than him.
>>77313378I understand, but I just really don't want to do that.I spend hours a day already working out, add in sports/cardio/hobbyist activities also I cannot afford double workouts. I'm already 25 years into lifting and I've basically accepted not spamming bicep curls during teenage years put me nearly at a lifelong disadvantage.Note I did not say I have low curl numbers, my numbers are high, just not as high as people who have short bicep golf ball biceps with 25 years of equal lifting. But yeah you are correct, I've never once spam blasted biceps in my life and that for sure put me at a multi year disadvantage for a while. You want to talk tricep numbers though I've got everyone beat and I don't even workout triceps that much. Genetics are just weird sometimes also m8.We were doing overhead triceps on the pulley the other day with a new guy and his mind basically exploded when I maxed out the weights. Triceps aren't even particularly huge, just have an absurd muscle/mind connection or some shit. I barely even feel the exercise.
>>77312251That is a bad representation of short vs long biceps, as the short doesn't really have a more pronounced gap than the long.
>>77312251>Cursed with 3 and a 4 finger gap. How tf do we deal with this brehsGet bigger. The gap will fill out when you actually build some muscle, get that bicep muscle belly filled out and build up the forearm. Pic related. Don't even worry about how your inserts are when your arms are fucking 14" lol. When they get above 16" lean they look sick no matter the inserts
>>77312251You don't have any kind of muscles in your body at the moment so you don't have to worry about the bicep yet which is also relatively small muscle in your upper body or even arms because the triceps are twice as big.
>>77313418How long would it take to reach that size?
>>77312404I'm on a 1 month roll from a long hiatus. People at work ask me if I workout so I guess muscle memory is there doing its thing. I've got a good rhythm going right now and found my love for lifting again
>>77314457Happy for you anon. It feels good to be back in the swing.
>>7731444716" or Dorian size? 16", maybe a year. Dorian size lean is going to take years + gear.
>>77312677it's like the calf muscle. performance of the bicep and calf are actually dependent on the length of the tendon. so a long achiles tendon stores more elastic potential energy, making the person more explosive. same for the bicep. you will notice that all olympic sprinters have very long achiles tendons and their calves sit very high up on their leg.
>>77315085bs
>>77314447Realistically it takes most people 2 years of training and eating right to get 16" arms without just bloatmaxxing and having a massive fatcep. Just remember to directly hit arms, ignore the idiots who say compounds is enough to build arms18" arms lean takes 5+ years for most, and unless you got great arm genetics 18" lean is the absolute most you're getting without gear or syntholI have trained for 5 years but realise that I wasted my first 2 years training like an idiot and not eating, and mine are now 17" with a pump
>>77314447>how long would it take to have arms like Dorian YatesLike passing your driving test and asking how long it would take to become F1 Champion. There’s a lot more to it than time
>>77312251I have long biceps but I always thought short biceps look better. They are condensed and bulge outward giving that "cannonball" look.
>>77313309>the longer tendon length allows for a generally faster sprinter, as it is more elastic than muscle and acts as a rubber band.I have wondered about this. Is 'short muscle long tendon' actually an athletic advantage? For me I have shitty terrible delt inserts, but have always been good at throwing. I wonder if the long tendon helps with that.
>>77315560Same, they look like Popeye's
