Injuries your neck but makes your body rock solid so much so that unrelated exercises like pull ups become way easier.

literally don't care, just need to inhale beautiful women's assholes, simple as
>>
>>77312961
how the fuck are you injuring your neck you fucking retard? do you even lift?
>>
>>77312979
Maybe he does behind the head or some similar meme shit
>>
>>77312990
>Maybe he does behind the head or some similar meme shit
That is the correct way to do it.
>>
Do this sitting down to take the legs out of the equation
>>
>>77312996
Why would I want to take the legs of the equation for this exercise, anon?
>>
>>77312998
You don’t want to cheat the muscle out of optimal growth. Also, use dumbbells
>>
>>77312961
Explain how this injures your neck
>>
>>77312979
>how the fuck are you injuring your neck you fucking retard?
nta but It’s pretty easy to do this if you’ve only been doing Smith machine shoulder presses and then switch to free weights. Your delts may be strong, but your rotator cuff muscles generally aren't. So you can push heavy weight, but your body can't handle the stabilization, which can lead to injury. The same applies when doing a seated dumbbell shoulder press with a chair supporting your back.
This happened to me. I switched from dumbbells to free weight barbaell, used 80 kg, and injured one side of my neck. When you push to failure, the lower part of your neck gets crunched hard while you stabilize your back, and easy to injure yourself.
>>
>>77313002
It's trivial to keep your lower body inactive during the lift

If you stand up you can then use your lower body to cheat out more reps at the end

And the whole time you are strengthening your core.

Standing up > sitting down always, unless you are injured or w.e.

> if you’ve only been doing Smith machine shoulder presses
So if your retarded?

bro my neck is fucked after i pulled it doing ohp. years later and its never been the same.
>>
>>77312979
Not neck, but I once managed to uppercut myself with the bar like a retard
I got distracted by something and didn't move my head in time
>>
>>77312967
I hope you never do and die completely alone and miserably, preferably by your own hand, ideally soon

>>77313002
It's not "cheating" it's using a more natural ROM and movement and involving more muscle. Your logic could reduce everything down to isolation exercises.
>>
>>77313956
yeah, I did that too when I first started learning clean and jerk
managed to not knock myself out though, thank god
>>
>>77312995
lol no. and seated no. if you're doing either of those, and don't have some medical condition, kill yourself forthwith.
>>
>>77312995
>>Maybe he does behind the head or some similar meme shit
>That is the correct way to do it.
you dont have to do this
>>
>Ever using Smith Machines
Why the FUCK would you use that? To gaslight yourself that you are pressing 2 plates in the bench despite not even hitting 1 plate in the bench?
>>
>>77313008
You can OHP 80 kg?
>>
>>77313008
>going straight to heavy OHP the first time you do it
Are you retarded bro?
>>
>>77312961
don't look around while doing it then, retard
>>
This board genuinely averages 40yo
Weak, small, bitter, delusional, very prone to injury and cant shut up about how much they know about lifting because they "played ball in highschool"... Yup checks out.
>>
>>77313018
NTA but if you go to planet fitness (one of the cheapest and most common gyms) then they literally only have smith machines for compound lifts.

I worked up to 2pl8 bench at planet fitness, switched to a real gym, and they didn't have smith machines. My bench was so bad without a smith machine I had to restart from basically 0.
>>
>>77315225
I'm 55. And I'm stronger than you. No, I won't post body for your masturbatory schoolboy fantasies. Fuck off you little git.

>>77315922
>Conceding before even being confronted
Andropause mentality
>>
>>77312995
For me, it's the standing incline press.
>>
>>77312961
I honestly think a good OHP is better than a good bench, clearly superior for aesthetics and general functional strength
>>
>>77312961
saarpost
>>
amount of people on here wondering how you hurt your neck while OHPing is telling. this board is fucking dyel as shit
>>
>>77315931
lol sure thing bro
>>
>>77312995
0/8
>>77313956
I busted my nose once. Almost dropped the bar.
>>
>>77316124
Kek bet your ohp is below 2pl lmao
>>
>>77314936
Can you not? Every Man should be able to 1RM OHP his BW, minimum.
If you cannot, you are either weak or fat.
>>
>>77316124
no, you people a genuinely fucking stupid. Your neck isnt part of the ohp
You do not lift.
>>
>>77312961
I used to injure my trap/neck area when I was starting out, it was more like a pulled/strained muscle. I think it happened when I was struggling and the bar would start to lean to one side and put extra tension on the trap
>>
>>77317078
It is though. You push your head forward under the bar the complete he lift, then retract on the eccentric.
And if you are going hard basically all your muscles are strained.
