Consider that it’s not just about your general discipline / willpower, but also about your current self-esteem (or lack thereof).

It’s very often the case that people trapped in addiction can’t find the willpower they need to fight said addiction because they don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. They can’t imagine a version of themselves that succeeds because they have no self-confidence. This makes them feel like they’re suffering in the here-and-now for nothing, which inevitably leads them to relapse.

I hate to sound cringe by using therapy speak, but it’s genuinely applicable here. You need to mentally reframe your fitness journey as building the new version of yourself up, rather than as tearing the old version down. Technically these are functionally the same thing, but it’s about how you mentally approach it. Lean into positive reinforcement for your successes (whatever they are), not negative reinforcement for your inevitable mistakes. You’re stuck in the latter, which is making you associate your overall effort with negative feelings, which isn’t sustainable.

A practical way to apply this here, for instance, would be to use that feeling of regret over what you ate to motivate yourself to go for a long walk. Then, when you feel shame for the mistake, you can reassure yourself that you at least did something to ameliorate that mistake, and take pride in that.

>I literally just ate an entire pizza all by myself
is that not normal?
>>
Bro we all have been there

The regret is useless, trust me, recovery and training consistently is way more relevant

from what I understood Americans make pizzas significantly bigger than the standard Italian size, to the point that you aren't meant to be eaten by one person in a single sitting
>>
>>77313858
I eat full pizzas all the time when lifting heavy and doing cardio
Just exercise dude and you can eat whatever

Take up powershitting, genuinely
Instead of focusing on fat loss, focus on make number go up
You obviously don't respond to internal motivation, but I bet you will respond to external motivation
I'm the same, if left alone I'll eat like shit, but when I'm more active in sports I enjoy I find it way easier not to eat like shit, because it degrades my training and performance, and that works as motivation
Powershitting benefits from being fat, and you can use it as your driver to cut down and build muscle, but the important thing is that you can start TODAY, NOW
Look up and see if there are any real powerlifting/strongman/garage/old school gyms near you, and join one if so
Otherwise, look up a beginning powerlifting routine and go to the gym and start it
Function leads to form, not the other way around

>>
What’s the issue? Just go lift some heavy shit now and your body will use the pizza to build muscle.

Also 90% of the time you'll cap out on caloric intake anyway so it ends up helping you lean out. Unless anon is a true genetic freak.
