Is there ANY benefit about drinking alcohol?

>you can socialize more easily and relax
Realized alcohol makes me actually more stressed and yeah, also more retarded/slow. Especially if I'm trying to meet new people. Drinking water and some caffeine is actually based af. Plus you don't gain fat nor lose your muscle gains.

Fuck alcohol.

>Is there ANY benefit about drinking alcohol?
Depends on if you need to be accepted by a group, like, say, your army buddies or work buddies. Yeah, you could probably get along just fine without having a piss-up with 'em, but they'll always hold you at arm's length. Not saying I like this aspect of society but it's true: blokes trust you more when you have a few beers wivvem.

reasoning of the weakest of minds. if a group doesn't accept you unless you partake in any form of drug, you don't need that group. find better peers. you're worth more than that.

Alcohol is completely harmless and in most cases beneficial for lifting.

A glass of wine with food or a pair of beers with friends is based though.

This is the most brainlet narcissist retarded take I've ever heard.
If it is socially advantageous to have a beer or two with colleagues so that they won't think you're a fucking weirdo, then you should do it to further your relationships.
The entire world works off of nepotism and friends. Not just outcomes. Maybe you wish it did, but it doesn't.
Stop being a faggot.
>>

NO, ALCOHOL IS A POISON

There is a reason that, apart from religious clergymen, alcohol consumption among all professions is the lowest among medical professionals.

If you know the basic biology of human bodies and cells, if you know what alcohol actually does to you, you won't EVER let a single drop of it inside you.

There are studies that show medical practictioners drink more frequently than the average person but are less likely to binge heavily
>>
>>77320113
>When compared to the general population, healthcare professionals appear to drink less, however, these findings also suggest that dentists use significantly more alcohol than most other groups of healthcare professionals. Together these findings address significant knowledge gaps that exist surrounding the prevalence of and pathways promoting alcohol use and misuse by healthcare professionals.

>There are studies that show medical practictioners drink more frequently than the average person
As far as I know, only one study showed this with a sample of doctors from Ireland, which has among the highest alcohol consumption per capita in the world.
>>
>>77320163
Yeah, but if you look at reviews of a number of studies it's kind of all over the place and depends on sex, age, career stage, etc. Even problem drinking is sometimes higher than the national average depending on the specific group. I think "practice what they know" is probably true for a decent number of medical practitioners, though.

>relaxes your muscles
>lowers cortisol
>out of your liver pretty fast
>helps you sleep or even sleep twice a day
What if it turns out that alcohol in practice is the closest thing to anabolic steroids there are as a lifestyle drug?
>>
>>77320185
Alcohol can help you fall asleep faster but it fragments sleep and fucks up REM sleep. Also, muscle relaxation also affects the muscles in your throat which increases chances of snoring or sleep apnea. I'm not against drinking alcohol and I think it's not a massive gains killer but it affects sleep quality and recovery more than most other things.
>>
>>77317672
>Is there ANY benefit about drinking alcohol?
No, it is purely bad for you in just about every way.
>>
>>77320185
It inhibits protein synthesis. It is one of the only foods that literally and directly steals gains.
>>
>>77320079
nah he's right. just going out for a drink or two with coworkers will build your networking pretty easily.
just drink mixed drinks/shots instead of beer lol

Oh look another thread for the autistic losers of 4chan to rage about alcohol and how superior they feel to everyone else for or doing it

So I lose exactly 5% MPS with each beer and it only goes back down to 100% when? It's probably a ton less than you would think.

Arnold spread misinfo back in the day specifically to fuck with weaker lifters.

>>77320464
Also Arnold was on roids. It's not like drinking some beers daily isn't gonna delete muscle gains.
>>
>>77320478
It would still slow protein synthesis to a near halt if he was super drunk all the time.
>higher T raises MPS and steroids simulate it
>liver can only process so much protein
That is the bottleneck. Some people start while so weak and biologically immature that the roids and other shit shuts down their liver because it's at capacity. Or processing toxic byproducts from shitty gear. Just a psa to some dipshit who might be roiding and drinking or whatever.
>>
>>77320451
Losing even 1% gains is an unforgiveable crime. Just do one less rep. Just skip workout day once. Then it's all over Jerry.

Alcohol has kept human civilization intact for 4,000 years. Your parents probably wouldn't have been able to stand eachother long enough to screw without alcohol, so give humanity's oldest friend your thanks.

Alcohol is an off button for autism in social situations.

>drink a few beers
I’m a fun guy

>don’t drink any beers
I’m not a fun guy

I use it as a tool to make new friends, then once the friendship is established I cut way back on drinking around those people
>>
>>77321591
What if i just drink alcohol-free beers and nobody will know
>>
For me I just need it to be social. I'm a few years sober at this point, but the only time I've ever had girlfriends or actually participated in social activities is when I would drink alcohol.

Granted I have diagnosed social anxiety disorder that is unmedicated, but yeah without alcohol I am basically a mute and inept in all social situations.
>>
>>77321602
Samefag here

I don't think alcohol is actually good for you phsyxially in any way... But assuming you aren't like a full blown alcoholic, the affects of being drunk can potentially change your life for the better in certain aspects.

Pretty much all of the best things in my life happened while drunk. I lost my virginity, I got a high paying job, and I made friends with high net worth individuals. The funny thing is once I stopped drinking, everyone said I was too intense and closed off and eventually lost my job gf etc...
>>
>>77321591
I used to think the same way

>"I can't socialize without alcohol, I will be awkward and nobody will talk to me"

I realized it was all in my head. Just make the effort to talk to people.
>>
>also more retarded/slow
that's tautology
>>
>>77321622
Nope. Was sober for 4-5 years and it destroyed my social life.

I’m autistic. Diagnosed.

Alcohol helps me form social bonds. It’s really not that harmful if you only ever drink occasionally socially.

>hard poison is bad
>but anon listen, THIS poison is GOOOOD because we've all gaslit ourselves as a society that this poison doesn't do any harm
y'all can be raging alcoholics all you want, just be honest about your addiction because that's what it is you cowards
>>
Genuinely never ever touch the stuff

>>77317672
It's interesting, with more asians, indians, and middle easterners coming on the world wide web, more confusion over alcohol reigns
>>
>>77320172
>if you look at reviews of a number of studies it's kind of all over the place and depends on sex, age, career stage
Yeah, part of me thinks this is on purpose. If the WHO or any medical governing body really wanted to, they could easily do a comprehensive study, with sample sizes in the thousands in various nations, involving various specialties, various career stages, sexes, etc.

What they're really afraid of is not the alcohol, but other substances, the use of which is far higher among medical professionals than the general population. It would highlight the fact that the demands of this field often require stimulant use to keep up, and obviously the fact that medical professionals have easy access to regulated or even illicit substances. If you were to do a really thorough investigation of alcohol use, there is no way you can avoid the fact that this is one of the reasons why alcohol use is also less prevalent among doctors; they don't need alcohol if they already have other substances.
>>
>>77317672
Non-alcoholfag here. No soft drinks either. Just water, juices, coffee, or dairyslop like ice chocolates etc.

Surely there's an infographic out there showing a non-alcoholic drinks tier list/flowchart?
>>
Every time I drink alcohol it keeps my heart rate elevated. Totally not worth it outside of socialization.
