i started lifting 4 months ago and i'm getting to the point where linear progression isn't automatic anymore. i understand that it can be considered a stall/plateau if i fail to hit the target sets x reps in consecutive sessions.what do you personally do or suggest here? i have heard>deload ~10% and proceed as normal>deload ~10% and proceed, but AMRAP last set>rep cycle (e.g., stuck at 200x3x8, do 200x3x6 -> x7 -> x8)>change the set x rep scheme altogether
I'd recommend 600 test 750 hcg / week
>>77319538Start 1rming like crazy every weeks for 2 months every single session and up your sessions to 5 or 6
>>77319538Get micro plates, alternate lifts, switch reps and set schemes, alternate frequency
>>77319548I'd recommend hiding this post
>>77319553this is genuinely terrible adviceOP all the things you mentioned can work, i do increasing reps (for me it's more like x876, 877, 887, 888) but that's unnecessarily slow for someone of your experience level. i think the first two examples you listed are what is more commonly prescribed in LP programs
>>77319538>i started lifting 4 months ago and i'm getting to the point where linear progression isn't automatic anymore.you are doing something wrongi'm 2 years in and still making progress every single session
>>77319538Those legs cant be the natty limit can they?
>>77319955if you're still making linear progress after 2 years you're the one doing something wrong kek
>>77319538>i started lifting 4 months ago and i'm getting to the point where linear progression isn't automatic anymore. At 4 months you definitely shouldn't be plateauing.Try taking a rest day or a light day. You might be fatigued. But then go back into it trying to set a new PB.
>>77319955>>77320787OP here, not sure what i'm missing. for example, my program has me adding 5 lbs per bench session, or +7.5 lbs/week. i started at repping 95. 95+7.5*17 = 2pl8 for reps. i'm not quite there personally because i took two week long breaks and my training hasn't been perfect, but you get the idea. are you telling me that if i'm not benching 2pl8 for reps after 4-5 months i'm fucking up? because i looked into the timeline for 2pl8 and most people reported a timeline on the scale of about a year +/- 4 monthsi've been overbulking if anything and have been sleeping 7+ hours most nights, so it's not that
>>77320840Adding 5 pounds per session every session is not realistic after the first few months. Add 5 pounds per session IF YOU CAN. If you can't then don't add the 5 pounds, just add an extra rep. Then add 2 extra reps next seesion. THEN drop 2 reps and add 5 pounds. Or work out some sort of progression system that works for you.
>>77320840add a rep or add weight, whichever one you can
