How do am I suppose to deal with the pain all over my body after going to the gym for the first time in 30 years? I used to work manual labor all my life, was slim and fit, then I injured my spine and went up to 200 lbs, now I'm trying to lose it but fuck. I went to the gym yesterday and my whole body hurts to bad, especially my arms, I can't even lift my arms, what the fuck? Is this just part of being old? I'm 30.

Endure and stick with it. You'll get used to it. Also, learn your limits and don't lift weights so heavy they force you to sacrifice form. Proper form comes first. Any soreness you have after that is your reward and benchmark for a job well done. Embrace it and don't be a pussy.

Am I suppose to go back while in pain, or wait for the pain to go away before returning?

Go back while in pain and work a different muscle group. If you're committed to doing full-body every time, you'll need to wait to recover each time and your progress will be significantly slower.

Distinguish if it is DOMS or pain. DOMS is normal and healthy. Pain means you screwed something up. DOMS is worst the first couple weeks then won't be as strong.

Start slow and do a lot of prehab. Light weights, range of movement, stretching, physical therapy, sauna, eating right, plyometrics, light medium cardio, static holds etc

DOMS aren't only normal and healthy, it also feels good.

do less
just 1 set per exercise and no more than 5 exercises
after a week or two of doing that add another set per exercise
but keep it fully body 3x a week for now
don't worry about pushing to failure, just work on being consistent and building a habit

This is actually good advice. Your main goal right now should be building a habit of going to the gym, and not be one of these fat niggers who just go once and give up.

deal with it
