Also you want to eat at a 300 to 400 caloric surplus for a slow bulk with at least 1 g of protine per pound of body weight. Take 15g of creatine a day as well. Once you bulk about 20 pounds over the course of a few months you can cut and then rebulk keeping the majority of your muscular gains for a net gain overall and u just continue to do that until you die. Also, machines and barbells are the exact same except for how convenient it is to load weight and also what your body feels good to do and what ur built for. The big 5 are fire if you have the right proportions and can literally destroy your life if you don't take them seriously while machines don't really have that kind of risk while being super stable.
