>>77329857I think being able to rack it at any time tricks people into thinking it's safer than it is and people ignore setting up proper safeties. Also most lifts don't go in a perfectly straight line so certain lifts can feel awkward
>>77329824Goated at planet fitness where the dumbbells often max out at like 50 or 60 lbs. Smith machine incline press or smith machine bulgarian split squats made it easy to push intensity in such a pussified gym (mostly said in jest, planet fitness had a good combo of pleasant old people and fit bitches when I went in the mornings). I changed gyms and finally have options again but I appreciate smith machines for what they are. Might not be the most optimal for gains but the people bitching about it need to try harder
