If you know baldness runs in your family I would simply start with finasteride instead of dut, ngl. If you see it advancing on fin, at the first signs, I would switch to dutasteride.
I do think prevention is key. Those guys who end up regaining like half their hair are an anomaly, DHT blockers mainly simply stop or slow down the process.

Just a slight anecdote, when I was 21 I ran across an old classmate's linkedin profile, and noticed he was thinning considerably. I thought to myself how glad I was that I would never go bald, went to the bathroom to admire my hair when suddenly came the realization, the hair around my temples did seem slightly thinner, but it wasn't enough for me to know whether it was only in my head or I was actually thinning, but I noticed something kinda similar around my crown.

I asked family, friends, people on the internet, they all told me it was all in my head and that I should stop worrying about it. As months went by I become more and more convinced that I was actually balding, and that's when people started saying "what are you a fag? why do you care if you go bald", "if I were to start balding I would simply shave it off"
Then if you start taking something they shame you, or say you are crazy and that you aren't actually going bald.

I started taking fin at 21, got shamed by everyone to stop it after 7 months, by 23 I had lost a considerable amount of hair around my crown, and only until I was 25 did I switch to dutasteride.
My point is: don't be overconfident, but more importantly, listen to your intuition, you see your face in the mirror daily, you more than anyone should know if you are seeing some change in your hair density.

Good shits are all about diet and hydration. Avoid greasy foods, eat a lot of fiber, drink a little more water. Psyllium husk with water twice a day if you don't want to eat more fruits and veggies. Otherwise having rice, beans, bananas, and possibly prunes in your every day diet will having your shits slipping out near instantly with very little cleanup.
