Why did the new food pyramid fail to solve the obesity epidemic?

>be ameri
>get shown high carb pyramid
>decide veg oil+sugar slop = carbs
>eat veg oil+sugar, die

vs

>be ameri

>eat that
>die

Six months, actually.

the pyramid lacks of one important layer at the top: self-control and exercise.

The greatest tool any man can learn to use is self control. If you sit and wait beside a stream long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by.

heh, not to brag but when I was 4 I built a sick af castle with those colored blocks and my grandma told me that I'd be a great architect one day, at 19 I even thought about enrolling in university but I really don't find fatties all that attractive so I gave it up

Those guidelines were written by owners and board members of food and keto diet industries. This is not a conspiracy theory. Their names and affiliations are in plain English in the dietary guidelines chapter "Disclosure of Nutrition-Related Private Interests"
https://cdn.realfood.gov/Scientific%20Report_508.pdf

Keep in mind RFK Jr was so big about fighting industry influence, the entire MAHA founded on that. Then once in a position built on that promise and trust he fills the guidelines commission with industry profiteers.

no food pyramid ever solved obesity
they are good for orientation and for teaching kids

and they work in that sense
kids that have even just 1 "nutrition & food" day every year from elementary school on
have vastly better health outcomes than the general population

in some countries it's also used as guideline for school cafeterias, hospital meals, prison food etc.

the currently best one is the canadian imo
because it shows the ratios well
and healthy fats are only FROM proteins (like fish, tofu, almonds, walnuts etc.), not extra (which invalidates oil/butter slurping keto fags)

Animal fats are healthy though lmao. Holy brainwashing. Even the worst meat like cocktail sausage is healthier than grains and oils. I don't think modernists like you have the slightest clue just how bad modern foods are. You think there's some sort of equivalence between stuff invented/introduced in modern history and ancient foods, there isn't.

There is no evidece of that

>>
>>77336587
Magical thinking retard. Modern foods are fine. Only problem is factory farmed meats have screwed up fats. Which is why you limit those. Rest is slightly more kcal, slightly less minerals - which doesn't matter since everyone is taller and has higher bmr now.

There is no clear, concise, established evidence that animal fats are superior to plant fats. In fact, in very high quality RCTs and meta anaylsis over the past 30-40 years consistently show that plant oils are superior to animal oils in reducing obesity and disease.

This is an objective fact and you cannot argue against it. Anything you say against this is pseudo intellectual and based on your feelings, not data. You are ideologically captured.

whatever correlative point you're trying to make is refuted by the fact that the longest lived countries use lots of pufa's in their food.

I'll let you in on a secret that big food doesn't want you to know, the secret is calories, it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you don't eat a lot of it. A high plant oil consumption will commonly come with things like fiber, which helps reduce calorie intake. The highest quality research says that PUFAS have either a positive or neutral effect on the body, and all studies in which saturated fat was replaced by PUFAs show that PUFAs increased positive health markers and decreased negative health markers.

Again, this is all objective fact that cannot be refuted.

Recipe ideas:

>banana, blueberries, strawberry, peanuts, walnuts, milkshake
>yoghurt, diced apple, oats
>orange + grapes juice
>tuna, lettuce salad + bread
>baked broccoli, frozen peas, carrots with chicken and butter
>baked potatoes with cheese + groud beef
>salmon, rice, avocado, shrimp, olive oil
>eggs + steak
>green beans + butternut purée
>>
>>77338670
the point is we need epa/dha and no other fatty acids, and vegetable oil is in practice consumed mostly as part of processed food/snacks which are objectively bad. Unrefined veg oil sprinkled on salad is good, refined veg oil in cookies is bad.

Where's the MAHA outrage over this absolute betrayal? Just asking. Anyone seen anyone in that movement calling this out?
>>
>>77339574
They don't care because it aligns with there interests
>>
Because the problem is not food groups but rather foods engineered to be hyper-caloric, metabolically depressant, and addictive.
>>
The answer isn't guidelines or suggestions its to enact policies that make unhealthy slop uneconomical. If a bag of Oreos is $40, a McDonlad's burger is $45, a bottle of Soda is $35, and a Pizza is $65 but a dinner of boneless skinless chicken breast and broccoli can be had for $5 there would be no obesity epidemic.

nice digits but how is that any worse than the previous? conflicts with dairy industry is not new but the status quo as far as i can tell
>Our analysis found that 95 % of the committee members had COI with the food and/or pharmaceutical industries and that particular actors, including Kellogg, Abbott, Kraft, Mead Johnson, General Mills, Dannon and the International Life Sciences, had connections with multiple members. Research funding and membership of an advisory/executive board jointly accounted for more than 60 % of the total number of COI documented.

Terrible idea. Vegetarian ideologues in power would make most or all animal foods unaffordable. Already being done in the EU for climate reasons mainly
