You have to be careful with things like hack squats or pendulum squats, they are insane quad builders for sure, but regular squats build muscles like hip flexors or abductors which help with general stability

Only stressing knee flexion constantly with no hip stabilization work could lead to damage on things like the IT band long term

If you do dedicated isometric work like split squats to compensate then it’s fine, but they’re not a 1:1 replacement for squats
