Most of my gym days are after I get off work. I bring a plastic Walmart bag with a change of clothes and shoes, I get changed at work before leaving. The bag with my work clothes never goes into the gym, it stays in my car. Dedicated gym bags you actually bring into the gym are fucking stupid. The gym bag is infinitely more convenient to use for the gym equipment, not to say it's beneficial to have a separate thing for different activities. For me, the gym bag is dedicated solely to the gym and I use it for nothing else. I spent no mental energy filling and emptying the same backpack for every single activity that I'm doing or for every single place that I go and need a bag. The gym bag is for the gym and that's it.

I actually have two gym bags that i regulary use, one for the gym and one for mma. Main reasons I use gym bags at all is for volume, convenience and hygiene.
I often go to the sauna after gym so i need space for the extra towels. MMA gym bag needs to fit all the gear.
I use two different gym bags because I have had bad experience with fungal infections from martial arts, trhowing everything into one gym bag can help the spores surivive and spread.

I have a large gym bag, so people can see I am going to the GYM. That's right, peasants, swerve.
