>>77338714Pull ups are no joke man.I had nightmares from being forced to try to do a pull up in PE class at school. The teacher just wouldn't accept that I was the only kid who couldn't do a pull up (by chance I had a very athletic class) so he made my try until I could do at least half a pull up. I couldn't do shit, but I just had to keep trying for an hour, hoping for a miracle.Years later, I tried learning how to do pull ups for fitness on my own, couldn't do it. I did negative pull ups for three days (lowering myself down slowly from fully contracted position) and jumped straight to being able to do two proper pull ups. Negatives are very good for pull ups. They're so good that many out of shape fat people can probably learn to do a pull up if they just start with negatives.

>>77338788The funny thing about pull-ups is that it’s always a good indicator to me of how my weight is. When I’m on the smaller side, I can do 3x8 no problem. When I’m bulking and start gaining 15-20 lbs, I’m lucky if I can do 3x5.Just that little increase in weight can make a huge difference in the difficulty of the exercise.
