>>77340455Yeah you're right it has nothing to do with his eating disorder or one single food. Way to ignore the diabetes also.
>>77340311>1:6 fat protein ratioNot even close by any metric. Ribeye is about 1:1 per macro gram, ergo 2.25:1 fat to protein by calorie.
>>77340450Why do you only have and spam this one very old anecdote? Why does everyone else who does low carb reduce their A1c and feel better subjectively? Why are you autistic, moxyte?

>>77340910>>no fiber (needed for good gut bacteria)demonstrably false\>The most interesting and perhaps contentious finding was that there was no significant change in alpha-diversity in either group (18). Those on the ABD saw an increase in the relative abundance of bile-tolerant microorganisms, like Bilophila, Alistipes, and Bacteroides spp., and a decrease in the relative abundance of microbes known to metabolize complex dietary plant fibers, such as Roseburia, Eubacterium, and Ruminococcus spp. While often cited as evidence that an ABD is harmful, this is far from conclusive. The PBD, despite being supposedly uniquely capable of producing butyrate from microbiota-accessible carbohydrate metabolism, produced only slightly more butyrate than did the ABD, with the ABD also resulting in significantly greater production of isovalerate and isobutyrate (Fig. 1) (18). Isobutyrate has been shown to activate many of the same receptors as butyrate (see “Considering alternative pathways” below), weakening the notion that PBDs are significantly “better” for the gut due to butyrate/SCFA production.https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8092254

>>77340946Would you agree with the statement that fiber feeds a specific kind of bacteria, and that adhering to a diet that excludes dietary fiber causes those specific kinds of bacteria to be reduced in number?
>>77341056Dude, don't engage him. He posted a PubMed article that Has been endlessly posted here every single time by carnies, even though it doesn't prove their point. In order to prove that you don't need fiber for healthy gut bacteria, you would have to start from time to zero and feed a baby exclusively animal products and then measure their gut biome over the years with other people's gut microbiome. All this proves is that if a person eats a normal diet that contains fiber and then ceases consuming fiber, the gut microbiome will adapt to the already established gut microbiome. It does not actually prove that eating a strictly carnivorous diet with no fiber will produce a healthy gut microbiome. It's entirely fallacious. Don't engage with these kinds of people.

Red meat is probably the single healthiest thing most people can eat…IF the fat content is generally low and it’s not been transformed into some obese frankencow by bioengineered food and chemical treatments. Why do you need more? Well long term it’s unlikely you don’t develop at least some deficiencies and you’ll definitely be operating sub-optimally. I don’t know why people refuse to believe what the literature and simple reasoning clearly demonstrate: the healthiest diets for not all but most people are diets high in protein especially from natural red meat and natural fish like salmon and trout, high in fiber especially from whole fruits, vegetables and starches, a diet medium to high in carbohydrates generally depending on activity level, a diet with low to moderate fat, basically the minimum for optimal hormonal and cellular function, and a diet that is calorically appropriate for your energy expenditure. Obviously not all ways of getting any of these are healthy. Sure you could balance out your calories by drinking beer but it’s not the best choice, and some veggies might give you GI distress. But at the end of the day, appropriate foods for meeting all these is clearly the optimal diet for most of us. If you want to make red meat the core of that diet, it’s fine. But it’s obviously not optimal because you’re still missing all those other components.
