Do I HAVE to do cardio if I want to cut? I hate doing cardio but it feels impossible to lose fat even on two small meals a day

No, you can walk or do low intensity cardio. Swimming is kind of great for this because you lose so much energy through heat production you can really half ass it and still make progress. The deficit should be doing the work but if you want an extra 300-400 kcal a day yeah just do anything. I pretty much have to do cardio on a cut because I'm not paying $3 a lb for gross chicken. I'd rather run 3 miles a day and get something less lean but less gross

Cutting is 80% diet. Cardio just speeds up the process.
