Just when I'm starting to see some gains... back pain (just like the pic). Fuck.
I did some simple tests I found on YouTube to see if it's a herniated disc or SJ, but it doesn't look like it. Is there any way to know if it's something dangerous? I'm planning to see a doctor next month.

let me guess, deadlifts?

SI joint? Ive done mine twice now. Usually better after a week or two.
>>

you probably fixed your posture which is starting to actually utilize your back muscles to stand up straight
you'll get over the soreness in a week or two
>>
>>77344132
How to recover? How do I find out if it's the SI joint or something else?

>>77344130
I had to squat to move a 40 kg kettlebell, and then I felt something in my back.

Is there any way to find out? Im afraid it's something bad

felt something in your spine or your back muscles?
if you felt something "pop" or "slip" or feel a palpable bulge, see a physician
if you feel like you stretched your back muscles harder than usual, then just literally walk it off

>then I felt something in my back.
Your 100% fucked

If it's just muscular pain or soreness you're probably fine. Do some jefferson curls with some light weight every week if you're that worried.

Sleep with a pillow between your legs. You're just tense from fucked sleeping posture. Also probably need a new mattress

I felt pain, not a pop, not a slip either. There is no bulge.

Same exact thing dude and...

This. I started TRT, got my first real gains in ever(turns out I had bunk balls), and this shit started up. Doc told me that as I'm changing posture is going to have a bigger impact cause our muscles are already inflamed from working out. Soon I got one of them thigh pillows, the pain went away in the first night. Sometimes I might still get a little stuff if it slips out of place while I'm sleeping, but a hot shower in the morning clears that right up

this, bot literally not figuratively - go for a purposful walk, a couple times a week, u ought to do it anyways

The majority of herniations stop being painful after a few months of you're young and start a simple recovery protocol (basically walking and gradual exercise)

Do you ever get back to 100%?
>>
I used to get pretty bad back pain flare ups every few months and it definitely held my progress back a lot in the long run. After the second or third time (the most painful and most sudden onset during a lift) I went to the doctor who confirmed it wasn't a herniation but just a severe muscle cramp, gave me painkillers and muscle relaxers and an expensive radiology bill. After that I started seeing a chiropractor monthly and supplementing potassium, as well as adding hip-focused warmups to every gym session and I haven't had any back pain since then.

Once you realize 99% of these sudden back injuries are just muscle cramps and don't necessarily mean actual damage you can start ignoring them which actually makes them heal faster and with fewer complications, since you won't feel the need to overcompensate your movements to avoid the pain.

the warmups I do before every session are these:
>air squat
>pogo jump
>leg swing
>banded TKE
2 rounds of 10 each

plus posterior hip box stretch, box quad stretch, standing hamstring stretch for 2 rounds of 20 seconds or so

It's probably your lifting posture. The problem some people have is they try to "straighten" their back, which is impossible because there's a natural curvature. What you want to do is maintain a neutral spine, so you don't bend or hyperextend.

Never once had back pain from deadlifts or squats. I have had back pain from overhead presses because I have a bad habit of moving my lumbar while doing them, despite the much lighter weight.

If it was a herniation he would be struggling to walk and you can feel a herniation. It feels like a jelly donut being squeezed. Not a fan I got one from lifting a 60lb dog in an awkward position.

>squat
Yup, that’ll do it.

From what you’ve said, it could be common muscle or ligament strain against more serious spine problems.
