Nowadays everyone is fat, and because vegetable is a lot of water and fiber it's very filling so helps lose weight. More veg has always been good advice for the average person, but body builders have very different nutritional requirements and objectives to the average person (looking like the freakiest freak in the freak contest vs. looking hot and being healthy).

Fruits are sweet and want you to eat them, hence you can eat them raw.Vegetables are full of antioxidants and poison. Most modern vegetables are cultivated to contain less poison, but still try eating raw potatoes, rice and grains, see how that goes.
