Is it better to have a job where you're physically active or a job where you're sedentary if your goal is peak /fit/ness (and healthiness.)
On one hand a physically active job seems like the obvious choice, but every time I hear about such jobs I also hear about how they "destroy" your body overtime. So would it be better to choose a job with little physical exertion and simply stick to the gym in your off time?

Sedentary is bad, physically active is good IF there is variety in the tasks and you're able to recover enough. The reason some physically active jobs are thought to destroy your body is a mix of repetitive tasks, poor ergonomics and such.

Labour jobs don’t make you /fit/ necessarily. There’s plenty of guys in those jobs with huge guts, fucked up backs and knees. And you probably won’t have much energy to do a routine at the gym after.
>>
Sedentary without a doubt. Real shit jobs don't just destroy your body over time, there isn't enough time in a day to recover from it you accumulate the fatigue until the weekend, in other words you wake up tired there's not a good moment to go to the gym and lift weights.

The culture at those jobs usually makes it so that when you actually care about safety and ergonomics, like wearing gloves and safety goggles, they will bully you for being a pussy. If you think fuck them I'm not risking my health for this shit I don't care about their opinion you are in for a rude awakening because they will intentionally attack and hassle you for "thinking you are better than them". The guys who work in these jobs are fit on accident, they love bathing in misery and piling it on.

I’ve done both and I would say sedentary. Physical labour often involves fucked up positions, not being able to control your hours and you just drain your energy not lifting how you want to lift by lifting how you don’t want to lift. You can’t just lift some shit 6 times and lift some other shit 6 times and call it a day, you have to do it for 8 hours.

Jobs that require standing, moving, and some lifting seem like a good balance. It was like that when I did warehouse work, retail, and now production in a machine shop. Even plant maintenance wasn't that bad physically but the shift work sucked. Pay also sucks for most of these jobs, so there's that downside.

Unironically join the army.

Kill yourself. The army is where gains go to die.

damn must suck to be a thirdie

Manual labor jobs will give you strength but the problem is its uncontrolled, inconsistent lifting with often awkward objects.
I would not seek a labor job if your goal is fitness.

Forgot to add:
You will also often be too tired to do proper lifting at the end of the day so not really worth it.
Not saying it cant be done but it's far from ideal.

It's better to have a job which pays good
>>

>have useless jew daycare office job
>have standing desk and mini treadmill because your job is such a joke
>sit down when you're tired
>work out after work (short days because your job isn't important)
>>
I’ll get 800 euros next weekend but I’ll have to do 12-14h filmings back to back. Is this worth?

Even better, day care office job where you 100% work from home far away from an office so you never have to go in. Gym in lunch break (long lunch) and swim in the pool at home after.
>>
Retail is an ironically the best job to have for fitness especially if you know how to activate certain muscle groups when you lift a box. Like you can turn it into a svend press or something to build pecs whenever you want. And the labor isn't intense enough to fuck your joints up or ruin your body.

>out of shape dyels who eat gas station food for breakfast will pick on me waaah
What’s the point of all that lifting if you’re still a loser faggot kek
>>
>>77346494
depends. my job is an entirely sedentary office job but i run on my lunch break and after work.
it entirely depends on you.

LMAO. Lots of people get fat in the Army.

Physical jobs where you are walking a lot are fine. Slave labor Mexican jobs are not. Awkward positions and being on your knees and bending weird ways full time for decades takes a toll on anyone. Even a simple job such as UPS will screw you up, from getting in and out of your truck 300+ times a day.

Obv being at a desk 8 hours a day is bad too, but at least you can do cardio when you get off. Ain't nothing you can do to remedy blue collar work.

max pay:min effort is ideal
a job where you can turn your brain off and rest mogs everything else because you can conserve energy for lifting or do it before work and then chill the rest of the day

Best /fit/ness job is really trading biotech stonks; I know about all the craziest new small molecules and peptides way before they start filtering into normie UGLs.

i work in a supermarket so i walk a lot, but the loads are not that heavy to be honest. i think it's a plus to be around fresh produce though

Why is the human body so shit?
>uhm you bent this specific area too much so now your joints are perma-fucked
>uhm you typed on the computer too much so enjoy your carpal tunnel for the rest of your life
>uhm you avoided doing all that so you're going to die young from lack of exercise
>uhm you did exercise but your form was bad so fuck your joints once again
There is no winning.
