How many 22.5 lb plates can you fit onto an ironmaster dumbells? O
If you could fit 4, you can get above the stated weight capacity of 165.

On their website it says anything above 120 lbs will void the warranty if you abuse, drop them or misuse them.

Who the hell abuses a dumbell?

I know what you're trying to do, lad.
You want to get just handles, locking pins and the heavier weight plates for cheaper price. Don't do it, you will regret.

Yeah sure, implying you can do anything with a dumbbell over 120lbs besides maybe bench a few reps. Ironmaster is still the only ones that let you get that high at all, and their shit is solid metal with no plastic. You shouldn't be dropping dumbbells at all, there's no reason for that and you deserve to have your shit break if you disrespect it.

>>77347351
The limiting factor is the size of the screw locks. It's all the same metal so 22.5lb plates probably have the same weight/thickness ratio of 5lbs. If you really want above 165lb your only option is the heavy handle kit to get to 180, which you should get anyway.

Lots of people are strong enough, but I think the dumbbells, even Ironmasters, just become so large and unwieldy at the high end of the weight stack that it defeats the purpose. Ex. Try doing a dumbbell row, it’ll just hit your upper leg before you even get that far.

You could try these, but they might turn you into tranny.

Dumbbells are massively overrated for home gyms.
Not that they're bad, it's just that people think they're the best option to replace an entire gym with, rather than the thing that you add after you've already bought everything else. I would posit that adjustable dumbbells are the #1 thing sitting around unused in the houses of DYELs.

If you want something minimal, rings are going to give better results with almost no storage space needed. Then if you're going to spend tons of money on adjustable dumbbells and an incline bench with extra attachments, you might as well just spend a little bit more and buy a Voltra. And if you have the space, then your best option is obviously always going to be a barbell+rack.

My home gym is just a pull up bar and rings, plus some mobility stuff like a slant board and ab roller. I have access to a commercial gym for my main lifts, and the only available space in my home is a literal cupboard.
I know at least 4 people with expensive adjustable dumbbells and benches just sitting around unused, and I've never met a single person who actually got strong from a setup like that.
>>

He is right. Dyel poverty home gym copers see adjustable dumbbells as a cheap solution to every problem, and they get garbage with low weight limits. People making a home gym to recreate the kind of routine they did in commercial gyms should get adjustables last, and good adjustables will probably be the single most expensive thing most people buy. Ironmasters and some of their expansions/add-ons are a great choice, arguably the best choice.
>>
>>77350130
Ironmasters are the best choice unless you’re one of those people that absolutely needs quick-change adjustables because you do supersets and stress about the change time in between.
