20 year old booger eating keto/carnivore/whole food chuds:
>no you don't understand, you need to eat avocado and steak everyday if you want to be healthy
random 119 year old lady from Japan:

You're missing the most important word. "Joyful".
Unfortunately, you are on 4chan, as am I. This will never apply to us, regardless of what we do.

Chocolate has real anti-aging properties, just don't get sugar-added goy B.S.

So do avocados, but I wouldn't eat/drink excessive amounts of steaks/sodas. I mostly drink kombucha for carbonated drinks.

fake sugar gives me headaches and makes my joints ache
real sugar gives me joy

Boogers aren't carnivore.

the body doesn't like to be given heavy things, which is why it takes longer to digest protein. nobody can really explain why sugar is bad without referencing diabetes, which can be reversed by fasting.

A German Shepherd lives to around ten years or so. Chihuahuas have double that. Lifespan is genetic. Epigenetics might extend it based on how well you're cared for and how good your life is. A small child could tell you this.

Progeria is a good example of a single mutation rapidly accelerating the aging process, but uh...
>Earlier estimates suggested that inherited factors explained about 20 to 25 percent of lifespan differences, and some large studies even placed the number below 10 percent. A new study from the Weizmann Institute of Science, published in Science, challenges that long-standing view. The researchers report that genetics may account for roughly half of the variation in human lifespan, which is at least double previous estimates.
The exact contribution of genetics to the aging process is unsettled, but it's well under 100%.

Why do German Shepherds usually live about 9-12 years and Chihuahuas live about 15-20?
>>
>>77350518
Your explanation there is mostly differences in the IGF1/mTOR pathway, but the quote in your picture is horribly inapplicalbe to a biological system with tens of thousands of proteins, most of which have totally unknown interactions with most environmental chemicals.
>>
>>77347737
Bro if you live in the USA there is no way you are living a stress-free lifestyle to live to 120, we have niggers. You are gonna die at 65.
>>
>>77350532
>You are gonna die at 65.
NTA but plenty of my family ACK'd in their 90s, so I figure I've got a decent shot at making 100+.

>the quote in your picture is horribly inapplicalbe to a biological system with tens of thousands of proteins
I didn't ask you about biological systems,
I didn't ask you about myriads of proteins,
I didn't ask you about unknown or known interactions,
I didn't ask you about environmental chemicals, and I didn't ask you about IGF1/mTOR pathways.

I asked you a quite simple question. Without getting pedantic, why do German Shepherds usually live about 9-12 years and Chihuahuas live about 15-20?
>>
>>77350535
Fair enough, if you don't live in some shithole you might be alright.
>>

>Role of the GH/IGF-1 axis in lifespan and healthspan: lessons from animal models
>https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2631405/
...but it's not all as easy as le jeanEZix, or all of picrel would be chemically impossible without CRISPR/Cas9.
>>
>>77350554
This is not a pedantic question, so it doesn't need a pedantic answer. Why do some animals resist a natural death longer than others?
>>
>>77350559
>Why do some animals resist a natural death longer than others?
There isn't just one answer. For bowhead whales as an example, it's mostly CIRBP overexpression: https://www.rochester.edu/newscenter/cirbp-protein-mammalian-longevity-bowhead-whales-674682/

Humans happen to share CIRBP with bowhead whales, so I provided a clearly epigenetic example to dodge ur b8.

<Lifespan is genetic
>No, it's not, unless it's progeria, but it's actually 20 to 25% according to my stoody, and another stoody said it's 10%, and then a new stoody said it's unsettled
<Why does one animal live longer than a similar animal then?
>It's impossible to answer, however GH/IGF-1 axis modules and le jeanEZix CRISPR/Cas9 and bowhead whales' CIRBP
<Genetics determines natural death, and this is not a pedantic question.
>no actually because bowhead whales share cirbp epigenetics with humans you're baiting me

Can we finally settle on it being a very complex mix of genetics and epigenetics with lots of different answers depending on the exact context?
>>
>>77350603
Apropos of this thread, in the exact context of a natural death, what is the reason why one animal lives longer than another?

One's genetics in their totality, which includes how these genetics respond to things over the course of life, in the specific context of natural death.

In a word, your genetics determine your lifespan.

When some environmental factor causes production of more or less of some protein, this is technically called EPI-genetic.

The simple answer then is that we don't know. You're just narcissistic.

The truth is that prenatal and childhood nutrition matters more than what you eat as an adult. It’s already over by the time most people are responsible for what they feed themselves.

Lel no, there are examples of ENVIRONMENTAL factors that impact lifespan.

can't expect profane-knowledge little STEMmies figure it out. God decides how long one lives and dies, lifespan is irrelevant, all your explanations of mechanisms are secobdary causes as your kbowledge is necessarily partial, it's what you do during that span of your life that counts. /fit/ can ve solved in one sentence, fast often, and when you eat don't over eat, so leave the table before you are full. Prophetic wisdom known for thousands of years, but soience /fit/sters are blind to spiritual truths and the inner workings of the universe.
