Why were bro-splits so hated over the years on /fit/? The most ripped, shredded dudes in the gym are doing bro-splits 99% of the time. The dudes doing 5x5 and legs 3x a week look like dogshit and are pudgy.
>>
It's a waste of time. Simple as.

They're not. The best physiques are dudes who run bro-splits. A low-bar fat sitting routine is garbage and gives you oversized legs with no arms. Garbage diet and love handles.
>>
>>77349629
BECAUSE THEY ARE ON ROIDS.

This is the quintessential gymbro zyzz roider routine. It doesn't work for natties. Roiders can literally not go to the gym at all and still build muscle.
>>
>>77349629
Because only hitting a muscle once a week is fucking retarded. And only works if ur roiding or it will work for a little bit and then u won't get any gains anymore.
>>
The only muscle you are hitting once a week is LEGS. And that is more than enough. Big legs are not aesthetic.

On chest day, you are also hitting triceps.
On shoulder day, you are also hitting triceps.
On back day, you are also hitting biceps.
On arm day, you are hitting biceps and triceps.

That is more than just once a week.

>Roiders can literally not go to the gym at all and still build muscle.
Nonsense. Their glycogen & nitrogen retention increases temporarily. But to say they're gaining any substantial muscle mass is just deceitful coping from a dyeltier twink. Last faggot I heard spew this line was an obese retard
>>
I look like this
>>
>>77349681
Yeah but not directly so ur not really getting shit for gains. It's like when people say deadlift trains a bunch of shit indirectly but ur never really getting enough stimulus, targeting the muscle directly is what counts, counting reps of anything else is bullshit desu
>>
>>77349693
Look at the funny guy who drinks beer and does tren hes growing big just from fucking around lol
>>
>>77349645
I cant tell if youre being a cheeky cunt or not. Imo it's a waste of time. Just do a full workout or youre going to hamper your gainz.
>>
>>77349706
We may have a difference of opinion on what constitutes as 'real growth'. Rest assured you wouldn't be putting on much mass as a couch potato even on tren outside of the TEMPORARY preliminary effects of the drug.
It would likely lean you out slightly given a somewhat decent diet but even that is limited and far surpassed by GLP1 agonists.

Whomever this funny guy on tren is, it's likely just for show.

Around 2010 doing any form of aesthetic work or traditional bodybuilding approach to training was discouraged by people who like to advocate for squat, bench and deadlifts. All of these people were enormously fat or bizarrely thin and all claimed to have read a book called Starting Strength

Starting Strength was a terrible, shitty book written by a fat moron. He wrote about 9000 pages on how to do a squat properly. All the time that people spent reading about it they could have spent exercising or dieting, but instead they clung to the book as if it was an unearthed religious text
>>
>>77349747
Spot on. SS was the biggest pile of dogshit ever written. It was meant for football players to put on some mass in a few months, but it turned into a neckbeard religious gospel for nerds. Every single person who did SS on this site would have been better off doing a bro split and cardio for health.

You don't even lift so what the fuck are you talking about?

^ I have been lifting well over a decade, and without fail the best looking people in gyms train some sort of brosplit. I don't make the rules. This is across probably a dozen different gyms in different areas I've lived.
>>
>>77349812
I have done for decades. SS was written for guys who played college football or wrestled. For some reason it became the prized possession for people who spent their high school years playing World of Warcraft. Then they got into "strongman" or "powerlifting" which was a great way to spend your weekends covered in chalk lifting monster truck wheels and telephone poles in car parks
>>
>>77349629
brosplit means 3 days of cardio minimum which is the real game changer
>>
>>77349828
Damn you must be huge then, what do you look like?
>>
>>77349693
Multiple studies have shown you can do roids and not lift and still increase muscle mass.
>>
>>77349830
Why are you pretending to be retarded?
>>
>>77349629
Why post a picture of a guy who doesnt even left. That physique is gained from fork putdowns.

All of which measured volume on/off cycle.
You dyel faggots clearly don't understand glycogen retention. Keep citing the same bs studies to justify your complete lack of gains (and guts since you don't even have the courage to hop on)
>>
>>77349846
If it was lean body mass that includes water weight
Just sayin
>>
>>77349634
How is it a "waste of time"?
>>
>>77349879
Because an upper/lower is better.

Its 2026. How are you guys still this retarded?

2 sets of 4-8 reps.
Stable effective movements.
High intensity.
1 rep in reserve. Only go to failure occasionally.

Literally all you need to grow.

If you're doing 5 different exercises for your back on your "back day" you're 100% wasting your time.
>>
>>77349855
absolutely insane roidtranny or piss poor bait, call it
>>
>Why were bro-splits so hated over the years on /fit/? The most ripped, shredded dudes in the gym are doing bro-splits 99% of the time. The dudes doing 5x5 and legs 3x a week look like dogshit and are pudgy.
Literally none of those results have anything to do with the workouts being performed and everything to do with what the lifters are eating. It's all about how lean one is. Muscles matter very little if you can't see them clearly.

I'm a big four + pullups lifter and I've looked like shit my entire life until just now when I got close to 10% bodyfat. I'm aiming for 6%. Then I will look like OP's pic. It's literally all about being low bodyfat.
>>
>>77349867
Keep coping, hormone trannie.
>>
>>77349895
Yet, every dude doing a bro split looks 100x better.
>>
>>77349990

This. People are retarded
>hmm genetically gifted chad who has been playing sports all his life does a bro split, like every other gym bro. It must be the routine!
Exercises build muscles. That's all they do. How you look is up to your bodyfat and routine. You don't need a neurotic amount of exercises to build muscle. You can do it with the basic lifts. That's how you get stronger at them. You do not go from zero to 1/2/3/4 without building a lot of muscle. Seeing as that is the mechanism responsible for the strength increase.
>>
>>77350052
>Seeing as that is the mechanism responsible for the strength increase.
I'm only nitpicking, as early noob gains are CNS based, but for most people they won't get to 1/2/3/4 on noob gains so you're still right in that achieving those numbers requires putting on muscle mass, and that muscle mass looks good when you can actually see it because you're low bodyfat.

Even hungry skeletons look better than fatties, even built fatties. That's the point.

Anyway you're 99% totally right.
>>
i started doing a bro split and immediately started seeing results and have always been lean

never realized how neglected some of these muscles were until i started doing isolation exercises

might take the 5th week off training 5 days a week though, i know i'm taking this week off since my sleep has been shit
>>
now to workout after working 12hrs because i'm not a bitch like some people here
>>
>>77349629
Because new lifters need higher frequency of lifting. Some decide to take steroids and that routine works bc of the drugs. Doing 5+ exercises per muscle on one day is retarded and a waste of time. Bro spilts can work for natties if you’re an elite/advanced lifter as you don’t need as much frequency if you go hard as recovery becomes more taxing as you can lift more weight. Beginners should not do that though, as you need to get used to the movement pattern and can make fast gains.
Starting strength is fine, just don’t bulk like that, how good you look in a photo is based off how low your bodyfat percentage is. Control your diet and lean bulk if you’re a beginner. Get stronger, you physically have to have bigger muscles to lift more weight. Make sure you do some isolation for your arms and delts.
>>
>>77350170
>how good you look in a photo is based off how low your bodyfat percentage is
you severely underestimate how bad a muscle imbalance looks

even henry cavil has too mush chest/biceps and not enough delts
>>
>>77349629
it was all a psyop started by homos to turn a generation of nerds into bottom heavy fapbait.
>>
>>77350045
The answer to that is always roids
>>
>>77349629
Consider that a complete beginner requires far less stimuli to induce adaptation. If a beginner can induce adaptation in three heavy sets, it works best to hit the entire body, then rest. However, the body eventually requires more stimuli for further adaptation. That is the point where a bro split enters. Or if you aren’t doing bodybuilding, whatever more specialized program.
>>
>>77350077
>I'm only nitpicking, as early noob gains are CNS based, b
If they are CNS based why the massive increase in muscle that beginners see?
I have lifted long enough that I'm pretty sure I have figured out what the CNS gains are, and they are minimal. They basically come from 'overclocking' a lift, working out hard and consistently. Because as soon as you stop, you lose like 10% strength. That's the CNS gains. Everything else is just muscle.
>>
>>77350271
I'm talking the first like 3 weeks of someone just starting lifting for the first time. It seems the language changed when I wasn't looking over the last few years, and now noob gains applies to the first year's growth (what I would consider the beginner stage of linear progression, just adding five pounds to the bar every workout).

CNS gains cap out in weeks and then yes after that strength improvements come from putting on muscle (and sometimes fat helps with leverage).
>>
Intrasexual competition. Guys don't want you to actually look good. They want you to waste years getting fat and cutting because that means one less dude out there that they have to compete with.
>>
>>77350303
I honestly think this is partly right. I also think there are fat blobs out there who did bulk and thought they were better off for it, so they keep praising bulking. This whole fucking world is so fucking fat, holy shit.
>>
>>77350303
This is bullshit. Women do that. Guys don't. I spend years online banging my head against the wall arguing with retards like you because I care about what's right.
>>
>>77349629
hint: they are all on steroids
>>77349675
ding ding ding ding
>>
>>77349867
uh oh tranny meltie
>>
>>77350342
nta but some guys do think like that. it's a manifestation of narcissism, which women are naturals at.
>>
>>77350388
Yeah you're right some guys are shit but I don't see much of that specific behavior on here
>>
>>77349629
>Why were bro-splits so hated over the years on /fit/?
cope, that's it.
>>
I'm doing a 4-day bro split, combining shoulders and arms. Also dropping leg days if there's a possibility of sex on a Saturday.
>>
>>77350045
Your subjective experience isnt objective fact.
>>
>>77349751
SS isn't that bad when used properly. It's called STARTING strength not "I'm going to run this along with gomad for 8 years until I'm spherical".
>>
>>77350952
Squat every session is kinda retarded desu not sure if the fatso actually intended it for roiders that can recover quickly
>>
Because bro splits are for frat bros. People doing legs 3x a week and 5x5 are training with purpose and for strength. No one gives a shit about abs past the age of 30 unless youre a 30 yr old gymcel iykyk
>>
>>77349629
>The most ripped, shredded dudes in the gym are doing bro-splits 99% of the time.
The most ripped, shredded dudes in the gym are on roids and would grow even if they didn't go to the gym at all. You might as well argue
>the richest guy i know is a neet, therefore being a neet will make me rich
while the guy is rich from inheriting a fortune.
>>
>>77350303
Depends on what ur idea of fat is lol. What most people call fat is just slightly pudgy. I'm 5'11 195. I have a faint outline of abs, a little bit of chub on my sides and a flat stomach, all while being stronger than 99% of the lean pencil necks.

Anyone with a brain can tell the difference between a fat dude and a lifter on a bulk. Unless the dude is 40% bf, they carry the weight completely different.
>>
>>77349693
>>77349867
>muh glycogen retention, roids totally don't fundamentally alter gene expression by binding to androgen receptors that then move into the nucleus
Nigger what the fuck are you on about lmao, read a fucking book
