Can I get a quick rundown on creatine? Should I be using it? Does it make a difference? Who should and should not be using it? Does it fuck up your stomach? Do notice when you are on creatine and not on it? How much performance have you gained?

Reason I am asking all this stuff is that I have heard good things about creatine but I am hesitant because I have heard nightmare stories of people taking creatine and basically shitting their pants. From what I gather, creatine makes water flow in your muscles more but at the cost of the water going to your organs? Is that right? Anyway, what are your thoughts on creatine?

Thanks.

It's great for your brain, makes your muscles look more pumped and 3d, I can feel in the gym I have more I can kind of sink into power wise and like I feel like I have more like padding around my joints if that makes sense
>>
>>77349698
Hmm.. can you tell me about those whole "saturation" part of it I have been reading about? How much creatine before you are actually saturated? Also, when and how do you normally take it? Just mix into a glass of water with or without a meal?
>>
>>77349694
Creatine is, unironically, only good, no bad effects. Take it.

>hurr it will make you lose your hair
No. It doesn't.
>>
>>77349694
it made my penis brown, it used to be light pink, now its fucking brown, im no longer white, dont use creatine if you are white! JESUS!
>>
>>77349694
qrd:
- recover better during and post workout
- better pumps
- pee slightly more due to increased water intake
>should
yeah probably
>who
faggots who ask too many questions in the first post should not use any supplements
>does
not for people who aren't pussies, no
>do
yes
>how
not insignificant amount. allowed me to lift straight through a shoulder injury that put me out of doing ohp once i tapered off the 'tine
>is
in theory yes but that's not how you define a 'cost' for a supplement
>anyway
pretty cool, if you can get pre with creatine it's almost always the better choice. no real downsides to not taking it either it's not super serum
>>

NTA but you spend a month "loading" creatine taking about 15g a day mixed with any liquid. It will usually have instructions on the pack. Then you go to "maintenance" and take 5g a day every day from then onwards.

It is flavorless but doesn't mix well, so it will kind of feel like you're drinking sand.

It might upset your stomach a little during the loading phase.

After loading is finished, your muscles will be visibly bigger. I think it's similar to roids where the mucles store more glycogen and look bigger (but not as extreme as roids obviously).

Unlike roids it is actually good for your overall health. It has good effects on your mental alertness and gives your muscles more energy. It is found naturally in meat but normally you don't eat enough to get as much as is optimal.
>>
>>77349702
two scoops daily for a week, then one scoop everyday. it's mostly just straight powder so is rough just with water, though if you have to do that make it cold water and it goes down easier
>>
>>77349713
When do you normally take it in your typical day? Also, do you take it everyday?
>>
>>77349717
Hmmm I heard the two scoops is what will make you shit yourself if you load it too quickly like that. Is that true?
>>
I can’t live without creatine at this point. It’s cheap, it works, it gives you great recovery and gains
>>
>>77349720
half an hour before working out, with pre. during loading the first dose is this and the second is in the evening with some juice or whatever.
>also
yeah, though i'll come off it if i'm not working out for an extended stretch (>~2 months). no real reason to i just stop buying any supplements during such time
>>
>>77349722
doesn't for me but you can obviously cut back to 1.5 or 1 scoop if two scoops make you shit, loading will just be a little slower.
>>
Do you guys have any particular brand of creatine monohydrate that you like? or as long as its MONOHYDRATE you are fine?
>>
>>77349741
it's all the same, monohydrate and you're gucci
>>
>>77349694
+5% strength boost while the potion is active
-0.02% permanent hair loss per dose
>>
>>77349746
>>77349707
Who is right? Anyone here on creatine and also bald?
>>
>>77349741
doesn't matter what brand it is as long as its mono and was made in a first world country
>>
>>77349694
Creatine is for your ATP cycle. It lets you grind out an extra 1 or 2 reps per set.
It will make you retain water.
Some anons swear it contributes to hair loss.
>>77349716
Don't do this. Loading is mostly bullshit, especially this retarded schedule, to make you use it faster and end up buying more.
>>77349722
You can take it more than once a day, even a half scoop twice daily.
>>
>>77349694
Creatine is great, buy the cheapest creatine monohydrate you can find. Drink it with a bunch of water and you'll be fine.
>>
Just purchased some. Going to try it out and take one scoop everyday across one month and see how it feels. How does it help with brain function though? That seems odd.
>>
>>77349694
Makes you bald and bloated
>>
>>77349694
I take 10mg a day and I forced my old boomer dad to get on it also. Its a miraculous substance for mental clarity.

The fitness benefits are kind of a meme, but it helped a lot with his dementia/weird old man behavior.
>>
>>77349925
Just like how your muscle works. Requires a lot of energy for your brain to work and it just provide the resources for your nerves to make those electrical impulses function normally. It doesnt supercharge you.
>>
What's the purpose of loading? Is that for athletes getting ready for a weigh-in or competition?

I think if you're just taking creating for the long-term benefits, you can skip the loading and start with 5g per day. That's what I've been doing and I saw benefits with it.

I just spoon the powder into my mouth and wash it down with water.
>>
>>77349694
>should i be using it
Yes. regardless of exercise, there are a lot of evidence for it improving mental health.

>muh hair
Disproven several times but its impossible to argue against fintrannies so its up to you if you wanna believe it or not.
>>
Anything wrong with flavored creatine? I tried a raspberry flavored one and it was delicious. Low calorie too.
>>
>>77351274
No, its the same, they just add some 0kcal flavor drops. You can also buy 0kcal flavor drops, I usually get mine for like 3 euros on MyProtein, they are very cheap. Its easier to do this while keeping creatine unflavoured, ends up cheaper.

Those drops also make having to drink some shit you dont like much a bit easier (ex: if you aren't a fan of your whey flavor but wanna finish it).
>>
>>77351215
Preloading is to get your levels up quickly. Just making numbers up to fill in memory gaps, because it has been too long since I looked it up. Say preloading 15g/day for 10 days got you up to the levels you would be at after 60 days of 5g/day. The only question is would you rather:
take 5g/day and have a 60 day period of suboptimal benefit

Take 15g/day for 10days and take 5g/day after that and have 10 days of sub optimal benefit.

Study pharmacokinetics. If I had 12+ years of forced math education and couldn't apply it to benefit my life, it would drive me mad.
>>
>>77351259
>Disproven
False
>>
Creatine works. Effects are subtle. Yes you should up your water consumption to get the full effect but your organs won’t shut down or whatever. Yes you will be pissing like a firehose. Yes you can do the whole loading thing if you want, but that’s where most of the indigestion and pant-shitting fables originate. I take 5g a day and in 3 ish weeks I’m seeing improvements. Don’t listen to the baldness schizos.

Also you don’t have to torture yourself mixing that shit into your shakes. I get gummies and they’re pretty good. Don’t get the Bucked Up ones though, those are fucking gross.
>>
Its for faggots with low T that need it to recover. That's it.
>>
any benefit to taking 10mg (2 scoops) a day, or just stick with 5mg?
>>
>>77352892
Do NOT go above 5mg for several reasons.
>>
>>77349710
Maybe stop playing anal with rasheed
>>
>>77349752
I'm 34, have been taking creatine for 10+ years mostly consistently/daily, and I grow too much hair.

If people have issues with hair loss on it, I think that was already gonna happen anyway regardless of the creatine. Maybe the creatine just accelerates the inevitability or something. Idk
>>
>>77352985
go on..
>>
>>77352676
>I get gummies and they’re pretty good
Gummies are kinda bad. Only in the sense that they might not be doing anything for you.
Creatine breaks down in water, and when they manufacture gummies they'll water out the creatine before mixing with gelatine. You don't know how long that process lasts, so even if the ingredient lists creatine, there might be significantly less active ingredients left in the gummies.

Can creatine go bad? I got some free with an order of protein last year and I opened it at the time but only used it a few times. Still in the cabinet. Can I start taking it or should I just get new?
>>
I have two mutations on my COMT gene and creatine helps me be normal

Real creatine can only be had from its natural source: raw meat.
This fake creatine made with petrochemicals that comes as a white powder in a plastic jar should be avoided AT ALL COSTS.

Eat real food, your natural human diet, and you won't need any of those gay ass stupid powders.

It's free strength and brain health lol and it's cheap as fuck... If ur not taking creatine, and fish oil ur fucking retarded they are free gains not to mention ur muscles look a tiny bit fuller on them
>>
>>77353254
On creatine not fish oil fish oil is good for joint protection and brain health obviously, also vitamin d supplement is essential for my Washington folks or anyone who doesn't get much sun which is most of u here blud
>>
>>77353255
>anyone who doesn't get much sun
Me living in the arctic circle with either 100% daylight or 100% night time. D is essential not just for gains but for living.

Explain picrel then, but it looks like crazy overcooking is required to decompose it.

I like having hair, so I don't use it. For muscle, I simply take low dose cialis desu.

I've been taking creatine since early April and while I'm loving it there has been one issue. Muscle cramps. Been enjoying the benefits: always feel swole, seem to be better at getting extra reps in that I wasn't expecting to get at the beginning of the set, and even alertness has increased. But my fuck have the muscle cramps been bad. I increased my water intake a good amount but I've also read from some people that that makes it worse (something to do with diluting electrolytes) so I'm not sure now. Anyone else deal with this and overcome it?
>>
>>77349694
Creatine is so good with no downside it literally should just be in the water system.
>>
>>77354407
same i get forearm crampin but i def feel a boost in strength wierd
