Are stomach vacuums actually good or are they fake and gay?
>>
I don't want to look like a retarded freak how bodybuilders do
>>
>>77349966
They're essentially corset training
>>
>>77349966
They’re essential for overall core strength which is essential in every single movement your body makes. How can something like that be fake or gay?
>>
>>77350036
No real athletes do them. Athletes train core by doing planks n crunches. Only fucking freaks, as >>77349968 said, do this suck in your stomach shit.
>>
>>77349966
once I lost weight I subconsciously stopped doing them, feels good
>>
>>77350064
Gonna need a citation from every real athlete on the planet that they don’t incorporate vacuums. You got something like that handy, champ?
>>
>>77349966
It's the only actual way to train your TVA because it's the garter belt muscle that holds everything together. It's not used in conventional exercises since the prime movers are shit like the rectus and in maximum efforts, you "brace" your abs like you're about to be punched. This means pushing it OUT while the TVA's role is to pull IN, meaning it's essentially relaxed in maximum effort lifts.

Some morons like Bromley used to teach to "suck in" during a squat, but you physically cannot handle that during an actual hard lift because you would collapse. TVA is only trained with breathing exercises. Sure, this means you won't "significantly hypertrophy" it, but it's more of a posture muscle, just like the inner obliques. You just need to make sure they're fit.

Most athletes use them because most athletes just need strong abs not a "tight" TVA. A "tight" TVA is just for glamour.

You know the onus is on YOU proving that athletes across the world heavily rely on vacuums (they don't), right?
>>
>>77350259
My abs are strong. I already do squats/deads, etc. I'm just annoyed that my stomach juts out all the time since I'm eating so much food. Does it really help with that passively, or is it just going to make it easier to suck in my gut?
>>
>>77350036
They are not. Planks are, 90/90 bracing is. How relocating organs into your chest trains your core? Giving yiurself a possible organ dislocation is just retarded.
>>
>>77350371
>possible organ dislocation
lol, actual < 80 IQ
>>
>>77349966
i mean yeah, they are technically good, but its such a small improvement that its not worth bothering. They just train you on how to vacuum, unless you are going on stage to do it, there is no point and they look really bad honestly. No woman was ever impressed by a vacuum, its just something other bodybuilders appreciate.

Just do crunches and a proper ab core routine if you want good abs.

>organ dislocation
>internal decapitation from squatting
>every rep when lifting wears away your joints
Ive read some really really really stupid shit on /fit/ and this is top 3. It's always jeets saying it funny enough.
