Imo, the best training you can do is high rep bodyweight stuff. Like the army does, or the Thais. Just hundred of situps and pushups every day, some pull ups too, maybe go also for a run. Stuff like that. From personal xp, this gives you the rock hard otter mode everyone wants. You can even modify it for mass, like doing 20 sets of 20 instead of 2 sets of 200. Volume instead of reps.

There is just one drawback: This training is dogshit for sports performance and will absolutely kill your explosive power. Also by personal xp. Look like Tarzan, play like Jane, in other words.

It's so fucking unfortunate I can't make it work.

Not interested then. The entire reason I started lifting was to increase performance and as I get older it is only becoming more important to me.

I look like shit because I haven't done the high rep approach in years. Like >>77351145 I always put performance first.

Wrong. It's entirely sport and goal dependent. For the average hobbyist/casual who wants to maintain an active life and move injury free, good quality well rounded calisthenics are perfect.
I like to do martial arts and stay busy with landscaping and diy work. Muscular endurance from calisthenics have drastically improved my health.
Obviously this would be a bad choice if j was trying to get strong for rugby or something, but I'm not.

It's so sad to see young men who are incapable of understanding there's a whole world out there beyond posing like zyzz.

So it's not the best workout you can do in your opinion
>>
>hey guys, dyel here. Here's why you should never try hard in your training and focus on suboptimal shit that doesn't fulfill your goals. The reason? Because I don't want to do it.
>here's a pic of a guy who trained conventionally to back up my completely opposite point
In a better forum, these threads would result in a ban.

/fit/ in a nutshell.

to be fair 90% of irl doctors that give you health advice are decrepit obese faggots.

why does the army use it then?
>>
>>77351137
The Army requires you to deadlift for their fitness test. To reach the best score it has to be atleast 340lbs for 3 reps.
>>
>>77351239
Army wants different kind of explosiveness from you
>>
>>77351137
>instead of 2 sets of 200
nigga you ain't done 2x200 anything

Why is /fit/ like this?
>>
>>77351276
Exactly. There was a Japanese man who actually tried this and I shit you not he lost all of the hair on his head due to the stress of such large volume.
>>
>>77351276
Just one set of 200, good form push-ups, puts you in the absolute 0.1% of performance for any army test.
I even say the exact challenge, a clean set of 200 push-ups, be used in a game as a display of the MC immense strength and character growth. (the game was Eternum).

This is horrible advice so for all the skellies who clicked on this thread don't get excited.
Army and Thais are both DYEL tier (the rule not the exception)
Just do compounds 3x10, challenge yourself, throw in some cardio and isometrics, eat and rest. This shit is not rocket science.
>>
>>77351178
I didnt give you advice. I never would advise retards

That's exactly what we did in the Army for years and everyone was a skinnyfat or skelly dyel.

This is normally the part where I'd tell you to post body, but we already know you look like trash.
>>
>>77351137
You need near maximal speed in order to train for "power" and doing hundreds of situps and pushups won't do shit except build up metabolites and muscle damage that you will then have to recover.
Endurance adaptations from resistance exercise are incredibly limited too.
>20 sets of 20
>2 sets of 200

Waste of fucking time, stick to watching anime or whatever.
>>
>>77351137
>Imo, the best training you can do is high rep bodyweight stuff.
basically calisthenics anon. Its very inefficient and leads to very little gains over a very long time.
>>
>>77351164
Based. You're going to make it.
