There's zero reason to bulk to the point where you gain significant fat assuming you're not some Olympic strength athlete. Fat serves zero physiological purpose for gaining more muscle mass, it's just excess calories being stored.

It is also so much harder to cut than it is to bulk. When people say "oh just go on a cut" they probably have never actually cut in their lives. People start abusing horse medication in order to get lean, so just don't cause the problem in the first place if you can help it.
