Why arent you offalmaxxing, anon?>Dirtcheap due to decades of meat industry brainwashing flooring demand>More nutritious than muscle cuts>Tastier>More protein, less fat>The prizecut of pastoralist societies/old royalty, muscle meat was seen as fit for the massesGet the offalpill and dont stop with the liver, go with testicles heart spleen kidney etc. Your body will thank you anon.
>>77352763>liveryes. Beef is hearty, chicken is abundant and easy to cook>testicleslike scallops you can't overcook >heart Grill, not too much. Slice thin against the grain, it's very dense >spleenThis and other sweetbreads (thymus, salivary glands etc) are meh and best for hot dogs>kidneyhard pass. Texture is ass and it tastes terrible because it's a literal piss filter
>>77352763>tastierwould not eat even if someone paid me $500 to eat an 8 oz portion. not something a civilized man would eat. i don't mind spending $500+ a week on groceries.
>>77352775yeah cooking is hard especially without an access to a grill but it rewards well. also yeah i also dislike kidneys, and spleen is not a main course anyway its just an awesome iron source you cant overeat it anyway>>77352780you should at least give liver a try, i promise you its tasty. in the old world where I live its still considered the prize cut. I used to eat 18 hearts per week when money was low since good meat costs around 1600liras whilst heart only costs 400 liras per kilo lol
>>77352763For me it's beef tripe soup and pig blood soup. Peak central european cuisine.
>>77352780You're solving captchas to post on an anime website. Calm down. You aren't a "civilized man"
>>77352816>beef tripe soup yeah I can eat almost every part of the animals but I draw the line at tripe for some reason lol tripe and mumbar, which is like stuffed intestines. I might just have to man up more but thats on me
>>77352835Stuffed intestines is normie shit. Tripe on the other hand takes a lot of effort to make edible, but it's worth it.
>>77352763>liverTastes objectively shit but i grew up eating it so its ok.>kidneyAlso tastes like shit>tripeBy far the absolute worst one. The texture is firm and yet soft its fucking weird. But this one can taste really fucking good if you cook it right. Its uncommon around the west but very common to eat in places where you cant afford to waste meat.
>>77352961>>77352780Used to be very common in the USA to eat organ meats. Because we used to be a more industrious and less wasteful people. Now people will cry if their steak is a tiny bit underdone and will throw it away like weeping little fags. Chicken livers are amazing when marinated and grilled. Same with chicken hearts.
>>77353004I haven't really tried chicken liver but I might, I'll have to budget since I'm moving out and the plan is to eat mainly organ meats and canned fish and eggs. Occasionally chicken and fish, and once a week I'll eat stake if I'm lucky.Crazy how much cheaper organ meats are compared to regular muscle meat.
>>77352763Because it tastes like shit
>>77352780>>77353274This is the problem that you just cant solve for a lot of people regarding liver. I have had this several times as a kid because it used to be very common back in my country but it was never good or yummy. I was always fucking sad.It is really really healthy though, and I actually tried getting some now for gains, but couldnt find it for sale. Nowadays most butchers just throw it out.You either love it because you grew up eating it or something, or you see it as fuel that tastes bad but you still eat for gains.>oh but you can cook it in this way and its delic-It doesnt fucking matter, its always terrible, you can just make it less terrible. The texture also doesnt help.
>>77352763Not maxing but I been very much enjoying heart and liver every day or less
>>77353373Man that looks good
>>77353319>tfw my wife just loves liverNo wonder she's a mini-Gigastacy (4'11).I try to get inspired by her, sometimes it works, but it's always a struggle.
>>77352775>cooking your testiclesRaw only
>>77353101I hope it isnt just a matter of time that organ meats become stupid expensive. It already happened with oxtail. If you happen to have a Nando's near you, they do great chicken livers. I like the garlic hot sauce on em. Otherwise theyre not too hard to do yourself. Deenz are pricey now. Do you buy them in bulk? Or do you go for less expensive canned fish like kippers or mackerel?
Liver isn’t even a fraction as good as its proponents claim.
>>77352763>>Tastier>>More protein100% bullshit.
>>77352775>>77352798Heart also works well in stews that have been brewing for hours. You either have to grill it fast or stew for hours. Otherwise it's almost inedible rubber. It's also a lot of prep compared to some other cuts but considering the price that's all worth it.
>>77352763Ive tried to eat liver. Multiple times. Its a nightmare. There is no good way. Easiest way is to cut it into small pieces and swallow it whole. Seriously. Just as a nutritional supplement. Its too gross.
I like pate
Funnily enough I began purchasing beef liver back in 2019 and we had a fake pandemic and then beef liver never returned to Food 4 Less shelves.Sorry, everyone. The jews faked a pandemic in this simulation to take away a kino food from me.
>>77352763tried it, smelled fine but i damn near thew up after the first bite. i'll try it one more time at a good restaurant just to make sure that it's not my cooking that made it suck ass
>>77352763Love liver, so delicious. Probably gonna have some for lunch tomorrow.
>>77354113i don't really get the hate for liver's taste. i could imagine it being brutal on its own, especially with slices more than 1/2" thick, but i just buy the pre-sliced thin 4 oz slices, give them a very healthy seasoning with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, and make liver and onions. i don't even do the milk soak shiz (which i intentionally avoid bc some vitamins are water-soluble). tastes fine, a little irony but the garlic and onion cut through it very well.tl;dr if it's sliced thin enough and well-seasoned enough, you can mask the flavor
>>77352763Used to like eating beef liver for a while, even had a pretty tasty recipe for it. But then I realized i'm probably eating all the forever chemicals, microplastics, pesticides, and other toxic cancer the animal's liver was trying to process. Basically transfering all that shit to my liver. The extra nutrients aren't worth it.
50g Chicken Liver Pate on 2 Rice cakes is my standard breakfast for months now
I tried liver three times. I really struggled to eat it. Last time I even used a bunch of sauce and spice and everything but the taste is so overpowering that even if you drench it in bullshit it's still too strong.I will keep trying until I get it right, but the taste is very disuasive.
