Anyone take psyllium husk to increase fiber intake? I am considering it to increase fiber and also to feel more full while cutting. Also a bit concerned about the lead it can have.
>>77365737Buy it from a source that provides lab tests for its supplements. I take it because it provides an additional 5% LDL-C reduction which stacks well with reta, pitava and omega 3. In addition to that, it also makes stool softer.
>>77365739Ah yeah I forgot about the LDL-C shit. thats a nice benefit. Still concerned about the lead tho. even if its a low amount, isnt any amount bad?
>>77365774If the lab tests point towards levels being below a certain threshold then you are safe. The human body is capable of getting rid of small amounts of heavy metals by itself.
>>77365737yes it is easily one of the best supplements ever. also take inulin if you want another OP fibre supplement. just buy from a reputable company if you are concerned about lead.
>>77365779Alright thanks. I'll email the company and ask if I can see their lab tests
>>77365780What would that add aside from psyllium and the rest of my fiber intake?
I have some basically every day. Took a bit for my gut to get used to it, but now my shits are fantastic.450g light greek yoghurt2 scoops (~40g) protein powder18g psyllium husk powderground cinnamonMakes a nice treat. It helped me lose 26kg.
>>77365737No because I'm not a baby who can't eat vegetables.
>>77365890the end result is butyrate production.
>>77365737Theoretically you can swap for Chia seeds which I think don't have heavy metals.
It's just metamucil. Go to your grocery store and try it. I took it to help me shit when I was cutting on tirz and I suddenly stopped eating.
>>77365737I take it. I like that you barely have to wipe your ass after popping
I took 5 grams todat at 5pm with lots of water. when i went to bed i felt light headed and found it hard to sleep, had to pee often too. wtf? its just fiber, maybe im allergic?
>>77365737i take it along with lots of veges, salads and fruit. I do this because I live to shit
>>77366627You have more water in you.
I tried some a few times for constipation. Powdered psyllium actually does something, but it's a pain to consume - it actually needs to be fully dissolved in water, and the result is nasty to drink. Loose husks are easier to eat - literally just sprinkle some on food - but the effect is barely noticeable this way.
>>77366653doesn't explain why I got light headed right
>>77365737bro the romans consumed tons of lead you'll be fine
>>77366693put husks in juice and use pic related to blend. husks are better than powdered.
