Legit or waste of money?
>>77388484legit and a waste of money
>>77388484pretty good but you need to buy atleast 40kg ones
I Facebook market placed that shit and got a set for $50, they're pretty good
>>77388517I have the cheap dial-lock bowflex copy model and the main problem with them aside from their obvious fragility is the absurd size.>>77388531You got a pair like OP's pic for $50?
>>77388575It was an old lady and her son died, I got a load of other stuff tooBasically robbed her but if it wasn't me someone else would
>>77388484Personally, I got a 50kg set of standard bars (two dumbbells and one barbell) with plates. With lockjaw collars, screws are too annoying. They are not as fancy and easy to switch as adjustable dumbbells, and need a bit more space, but I can also do barbell exercises and can easily buy new plates over time.If you have a proper home gym, money to spend, and simply want a pair of dumbbells instead of twenty different ones, adjustable dumbbels are a great choice. Or if you're exclusively doing dumbbell exercises. I would still get the upgradeable ones if you eventually plan to lift more than ~24kg per dumbbell.
i don't understand questions like OP and why this board keeps getting people asking about them. they're just some fucking dumbbells that save a ton of space. if they have a range of weight appropriate for your ability and eventual goals they're fine. plus if you outgrow some that only go up to 50-55lb they're easy as shit to sell locally with a fairly low loss.
>>77388575>aside from their obvious fragilityThat's the biggest reason i would never buy the cheap ones with plastic parts. Imagine dropping this shit and it breaks with no way to repair. At least a proper metal would never fail you.
>>77388582>Basically robbed her but if it wasn't me someone else wouldshalom
someone dumped a set of these over the road so i scooped them uppretty good for a beginner and you can make decent noob gains with them. you can hit a massive range of muscles with a dumbell and some creativity
>>77388484i used bowflex through covid. it was worth it.
>>77388484Are you going to use them? Worth the money. Will they gather dust in the corner of your room? Waste of money.Make your own decisions. I support getting adjustable dumbbells over a full rack of dumbbells because they are far more convenient. If you have to move you don't want to have to move all those dumbbells and rack when you could only have to move two of them by themselves.DESU someone could get jacked without any dumbbells at all if they were resourceful enough. Just decide what you want to do.Personally I am not that resourceful so I got a set of powerblock 100s and I am making good progress using them.
>>77388484Expensive but great. Only worth getting as part of a complete gym setup. If all you're doing is getting some 50lb set wtih half of the parts being plastic to pair with a bench, just go to a real gym.Let me save you the trouble of brands. Get ironmasters. If you REALLY want dumbbells that change quickly then snodes or powerblocks, but ironmasters are better. If money is no object then get rep pepins, but even then ironmasters are still better in some ways.
>>77388575>absurd size.Same. I recently added reverse curls to my routine and these dumbbells are so fucking wide I need to do one arm at a time.
All y'all need to stop being retards and buy these.>Cheap>AdjustableJust make sure the size is the correct one (30mm or 25mm) and the locks are legit.
>>77391112dogshit
>>77391112I've had shit like this since I was 14 years old. Unless you collect a dozen bars and loads and loads of weights, you will never be able replicate the ease of use and speed of weight change as an adjustable pair.
>>77388488mostly waste of money (theyre fuck expensive)
Finally said fuck it. I get so sick of considering buying stuff I eventually buy it just to never think of buying it or not again. I look forward to watching the wagie carry it from the street up my long walkway to my mail room, though.
>>77393138>expensive
>>77393155>pay money for weights>delivery guy gets a free workoutyou fucking commie
>>77393155What’s the max weight?I’d be worried for some exercises to hit the cap which is why I just bought a pair or db bars and plates. Changing plates is a bit annoying but you’re taking rest between sets anyway which is a good time to do it
>>7739329055lb. I have a bar and plates, can't imagine needing dumbbells over 55lb anytime soon
>>77391112Screws are too annoying when you want to change weights. If you have a limited budget, get the ones with normal bars and lock jaw collars.
>>77393340Do you think I can still use those lock jaw collars if all my bars have screw indentations?
>>77391112I've got a good quality one and if I were to buy dumbbells again I would absolutely get an adjustable weights pair insteadI only occasionally use it if I skip the gym but its so cucked adjusting itFuck this shit
>>77388484legit, save space, pretty good for the homegym go for expensive ones right away though, don't buy a smaller size to "try them out"
>>77393407https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PZw2VgGwarUThis is the only comparison I could quickly find, and this faggot doesn't even test them. But they seem to hold - and if they do, you can still use screws for something like a hammer curl with a lot of weight.
>>77391112i did buy these, i regret it a lotthey were cheap so not a big waste, the real waste is time. it takes too long to change weight in between exercises, god forbid you want to do supersets
>>77388484Sure they're better if you like to stare at yourself naked in your home gym that is really your gay jack off muscle dungeon with a butt blaster machine that you use to fuck yourself.
>>77393465>op climbing into his machine all slow like amd making sure it's symmetric with the ass pounding that he has gotten warmed up for
>>77388600SPBPalso dubs
>>77391112>plate rotates slightly>clips instantly loosenit's usable but not very good. it's very easy to accidentally loosen the clips and end up with plates on your faceif i were to buy some again, i would try those mini barbells that have sleeves that can rotate like on a normal barbell
>>77393879or just buy non gimmick shit
>>77393909what a worthless fucking post
>>77388484>LegitYup.>waste of money?Depends on you, doesn't it? If you find them on sale at a price you enjoy, they'll be very worth it, right?I won't buy them at $5000, but if I found the same set for $50, that'd be pretty great!
>>77388907>and some creativityPeople should read Danberu.
Watch Gluck's gym reviews for your product to find out autistic details and possible shortcomings before buying.
>>77393959>watch an ad for a dumbbellshiggy
>>77388484I have the 92 lbs Trulaps and they're great. They were a little pricey, but 100% worth it for a home gym.
I bought a Total Gym for $800 so I'm not sure if my advice is the one you should take.
>>77388484I have a set that go to 90 lbs and I use them all of the time.Definitely not a waste. Love them but I'm quickly beginning to max them out on some lifts. Got them off of FB marketplace for 100$ for my home gym.
>>77388975The number of times I’ve read about Rep pepins breaking, getting loose, or feeling unstable gives me enough pause to simply make a blanket recommendation for Ironmasters, if you can afford them. Yes, yes, no quick change, but it’s really about 10 secs once you know what you’re doing, and supersets are overrated anyway. And they will last forever.
>>77394020>100$
>>77391112Those are just ironmasters but cheaper and much much worse.>even more of a pain to assemble and screw together>have to buy and store a ton of extra 5 and 10lb weights you will never use for anything else, even if you buy a 2" olympic handle>whatever plates you find will guaranteed be bulkier than ironmasters>extremely uncomfortable to rest on your thighs between bench setsMost handles are also just really shitty quality with poor knurling. If I ever got something like that I would go for oly handles from Titan at the minimum, but that also requires you to have extra barbell collars and you need to put trust in those collars to never fail with the weights above your face. Fuck 1" "standard" shit.
>>77394080you can get ironmaster style handles which work with 1" plates you already ownthere's also eisenlinks which are basically a cheaper ironmaster ripoff
>>77394107What kind of weak, poor faggot buys 1"?
>>77394107Those locks look puny. They don't look secure or like they could handle much weight. And like the other guy said>>>>1"
>>77394108you can add more weight to the bar, and it will become heavier
>>77394119what is this sorcery?
>>77394108>>77394119
>>77394010Are the videos where he roasts them ads. Maybe you can argue the ones he says are good are ads.
>>77393203yes. if you want to go heavy (the used market is also p expensive even for 50s)
>>77388582did you fuck her
>>77393879>>plate rotates slightly>>clips instantly loosenIf you tighten it the plates don't rotate
>>77391112You just inspired me to listen to all y'all by childish gambino
>>77396300grim
>>77388582Post nose
>>77394108it's the same weight, faggotgot a bunch of 1" plates for cheap
