intuitively, it just makes sense to me from an anabolic perspective that you want to break your fast with protein sooner rather than later

powershitting /fit/fags often approach breakfast the wrong way, though. obviously you don't want to overstuff yourself right at the start of the day; you'll just be sluggish and slow until mid-afternoon.
apple, almond butter, and a glass of milk/kefir is my favorite "practical" breakfast.

It's not so much about the breakfast time, but what you eat in it.

If you eat real food (meat, eggs, dairy) it's amazing, great for your health, and the best way to start your day.
If you eat sugary crap full of synthetic dyes and industrial waste (breakfast cereal) then you're better off just fasting.
