>smallest muscles ever (forearms)
>should handle as much weight as your biggest muscles (legs, traps, lats, spinal erectors) combined

suuure buddy
>>
Yup, bypassing a bottleneck will always be retarded for multiple reasons.
>>
>>77391986
Gonna make a lot of brownies mad
>>
>>77391998
There are plenty of world class strength athletes that don't use straps, they train their forearms to fix the issue. The kinetic chain along with GTOs are your bodies built in failsafe. Bypassing a bottleneck only worsens the issue. There is no excuse for using straps, your body is quite literally telling you that you aren't ready for the weight.
>>
>>77392012
my back is ready for the weight. Who cares if my forearms aren't ready yet? I want to train back during my back exercises. Is it so hard to understand?

Like who? I have never seen any PRs being broken without straps that requires it
>>
>>77391986
Lmao why did they wrap it backwards, too rage bait me?
>>
I saw a guy using these to do lat pulldowns the other day lmao
>>
>>77392031
oh my god hahahah you're right. I thought only the greentext was a bait. I didn't even notice the straps are on the wrong hand.

My juicy legs and back tell otherwise.
>>
>>77392035
Wait I didn't notice that hahaha you're right, it's ALL wrong
>>
>>77391986
I lifted the weight until my weaker muscles stopped the main muscles from performing the exercise. Then I added the straps until the main muscles no longer could while the weaker muscles got a drop set.

Lift smart.

Barbells are weird. In the real world, straps don't exist for the most part, but neither do barbells. Any heavy object you want to lift will be bulky and will require you to wrap you arms around it and squeeze, using the friction between your arms and the object to get a better hold on it. In this way, the "grip" is not just in the forearms, but also the biceps, pecs, lats and traps.
Atlas stones are an extreme example of this where they are too large to interlock your hands and simultaneously have nowhere to hook your fingers into. A lot of furniture is like this also.
On the other hand, you cannot squeeze a barbell so you just rely on your fingers to squeeze the bar, reducing the amount of muscle used significantly. At the same time, the barbell is loaded heavier than any other object one could feasibly encounter had the barbell not existed. So you're limiting the strongest muscles of the body with only the forearms, separated from the body's natural gripping patterns. For this reason I believe using straps on barbells and other bar exercises is not a diminishment of functional strength, and is a valid tool for strength development.
>>
If you can't pickup the weight of the object irl you can't lift it simple as
>>
>>77391998
>smallest muscles ever (forearms)
maybe your dyel ass forearms
mine are fucking huge because I don't play with strapons
>>
>>77391986
This shit is why nobody takes gym lifters seriously. Nigga we got furniture to carry or a rock to move, what do you mean you don't have your belt and straps?
>>
>>77391998
>have to lift heavy shit off the ground in an actual real life scenario
>cry because you don't have your precious straps with you
>>
>>77393603
When was the last time you had to pick up something heavier than 150 kg? Because for me it was...... NEVER. Literally never in 28 years of my life I picked something as heavy which wasn't a barbell. Max you pick up is 50-70ish kg, like when you're renovating your house and you have to become a construction worker for a little while. Or when you pick up furniture. That's still more rare than once a year and you can easily handle that weight without straps.

I've tried deadlifts exactly once in the last year
Bought straps too so my grip can stand 360+ pounds
Remembered that deadlifting is gay and stupid and gay a second time just to be sure and simply committed to doing more farmer's carries with 75ers in addition to my actual forearm exercises

>sensible reply
>on /fit/
umm..... faggot?
>>
>>77393359
These obese faggots just traded straps for grip shirts, tacky, and chalk
>can you help me move furniture
>sure, lemme just grab my shoes, suits, sleeves, and wraps
even the latinx workers that move your appliances use lifting straps to brace their back and even they aren't deluded enough to think they lifted a fridge with their palms
>>
>>77391986
So?
>>
>>77391986
My grip always gives out on weighted pullups before my back does. It's a necessary evil.

ah sweet, another "i've got a shit deadlift and i'm very angry about it" thread.
>>
>>77394341
Lifting atlas stones without tacky is a great way to build the squeezing strength. It's kinda like an isometric pec fly. You don't have to wear a grip shirt and all that, nobody is forcing you to do anything. Nobody is forcing you to hire men to move your stuff either, just do it yourself.
>>
>>77394367
How is that possible? I understand heavy deadlifts, but weighted pullups?
Im 90kg 186cm and can do 5 pullups with 40kg attached and my grip is not even close to failing
