Screwing these things on and off inbetween sets constantly feels like such a waste of time, is there something else I can buy which I can click on and off maybe instead? I'm tired of using these.
>>
someone posted an alternative in the adjustable dumbbell thread like an hour ago

I saw that, but I already have all these bars and weights and replacing all of them to buy new shit seems like a very expensive decision.
Do you think these things in picrel might still work when my bar looks like that?

hey i literally just got these decathlon stoppers, but they won't fit threads on my dumbbells. i'm looking for slightly bigger ones now
>>
>>77393410
i wonder if these could double as cock rings...
>>
>>77393438
Do you have olympic bars? Amazon has a lot of different collars for those.
The ones on the pic are for 1'' bars.
>>
>>77393410
I use lockjaws for my dumbbells
They work on threaded too but I wouldn't do hammer curls or any vertical stuff with them

For that I use the screwlock AND the lockjaw to prevent the screw from partially comig undone due to the gasket being dried up
>>
>>77393492
those 25 mm ones are only 20 USD btw, cheaper than the big 50 mm ones

kensui adaptabells which use a handle and pin system like ironmaster dumbbells

uses any 1" plate and also gets rid of the exposed rod so you can knee them into position for pressing more easily
>>
>>77393531
is there anything like this for olympic plates? im sick of the dumbbell ends fucking over my incline curls
>>
>>77393539
pepin olympic series
>>
>>77393539
Nta, but those things are advertised to work both with standard and olympic plates. No idea how exactly and how well they work.
>>
>>77393548
yeah i checked after making that post to make sure, $50 seems like a killer deal but i already have two sets of amazon adjustables with different lengths so im not sure if it's worth anymore. wish i found out about them sooner.
i would only be really concerned about the threads getting loose
>>

>>77393548
the end plate is big enough to hold both types, but olympic plates will be "sagging" by 1"
The rubber end will hold it in place for a but but eventually the friction will fail and it'll sag
not an issue for shit like OHP/Bench whatever but it's annoying for some other movemente
you CAN also just make some adapters
A 2" circle with a 1" hole

I have these, they're decent
>>
>>77393492
bro those won't work since you have a threaded bar. They may be able to grip, but they'll only have half the surface area to work with

>>
>>77393399
I bought unthreaded handles, so that I can just use regular spring clips. $30

it literally takes 10 seconds to change the weights you lazy faggot
>>
>>77393399
I unironically don't trust anything except screwlocks.
>>
>>77393492
One time when I was young I was doing dumbbell pullovers and the friction collar slipped off. Getting hit in the face by a 20lb falling plate was not nice.
>>
>>77393399
Is that a 15 second inconvenience between my sets when I'm not doing anything anyway? AIEEEE SAVE ME NIGGERMAN!!!

It's really not a big deal at all
Y'all don't remember the old dumbell pairs that you needed to use a wrench to adjust.
>>
>>77393410
You made a poorly informed and regrettable purchase. You were shortsighted, in too big of a hurry, and wanted the cheapest garbage possible. Your 1" screwlocks are your own problem and your own fault.
>>
>>77393399
There are some 3d printable options and it'd probably be strong enough if you had a shop use the right material but I didn't trust it. Ultimately I actually started going to the gym only cause of this. I was going once a week for legs but I got so fucking sick of having to thread and unthread this especially with warm-ups included that I just gave up.
>>
>>77393399
Depends on your budget. Rep Fitness QuickDraw adjustable dumbbells are click-on/off. It's probably the fastest adjustable dumbbells ever made.
One thing to keep in mind is that these simple, screw-lock adjustables are not only the cheapest but also the least prone to failure.
I personally have Nuobells. I like them as the size and form factor is as close as an adjustable can get to individual dumbbells, but twisting it to adjust the weight is just as annoying as a screw lock even if it is a tad bit faster.
Snode I believe makes similar but are more durable (although I think slightly larger). If I had to do it again I'd probably pick Snode. At the time, a LOT of these new fancy dumbbells didn't exist.
It all depends on what you're willing to sacrifice and how much you're willing to spend.

>>77393672
I have those and they do work for threaded bars
>won't grip as much
Imperceptible. I have a regular straight 140 mm x 25 mm bar as well I use them fore

yeah. clips or ball out and buy a set of fixed dumbbells

How did you clean the 5 years of sweat and pus out of all the ridges?

>>
>>77393399
I kinda like how slow it is. Maybe you can learn to appreciate it too. Treat your lifting like a meditation and you'll be glad to have a small task to do between sets.
Maybe put on some pleasant baroque music like Buxtehude https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgaqkPAcSfs
Stay away from the French harpsichordists though, they can't chill.

how often do you really change weights? Isn't it cheaper to get some extra bars and load them with a lighter weight?
barbell movements don't even need locks, so I don't really trust the locks made for barbells. Just shopping around I saw a picture of a busted lockjaw, that's a failure that's going to happen in an instant and actually cause weight to fly across the room. Spinlocks are slower but you know what you're getting with them.
>>
>>77393410
>Do you think these things in picrel might still work when my bar looks like that?
probably. I got tired of the screws on my dumbbells and replaced them with those clamps. works perfectly fine
but that's a dumbbell obviously, no idea if it would still work just as well with the amount of weights you put on barbells
>>
>>77393399
Spring collars, you don't need to replace anything. They will fit over the barbell grooves, just won't be as secure as the original screws but gud enuff
>>
>>77397431
A good ones will work. I saw a youtube guy jumping on a barbell with multiple 20 kg plates and some quality lockjaw, and it didn't even budge. The ones on the pic (from Decathlon) are advertised to hold up to 15 kg on each side for vertical exercises, and with no stated limit for horizontal exercises.
