I think I'm done with the whole "eat big lift big get big" thing. I feel big and strong enough for anything that could feasibly happen IRL and I don't feel the same joy from lifting as I once did. I think my time and effort would be better spent elsewhere, like my career, social life and other hobbies.
Is full body once a week enough to maintain strength and muscle? What would that one session look like?

I'm the same as you. I just wanted the casino royale physique and now I have it.
I walk everywhere so I walk between 2 and 8 km a day, and two/three times a week I'll do a few sets of pull/chin ups and push ups on my days off work.

I wouldn't want to risk only working out once a week, I know I'd deflate doing that.
light but regular works for me.

You're right. Go do something else. Sit in cubicle and get ahead. Go out and drink alcohol and eat. Watch more Netflix. Get a hobby like xbox. Volenteer to help negro children.

You can maintain 100% on as low as one ninth of the volume you did to grow. What you can’t lower is the intensity.
It’s actually a white pill, you can build up then be set for life barring some decline with age, and spend your time how you want still staying jacked

We call them niggers around these parts, son.

If you feel "strong" enough why not train cardio?
Your heart could probably do with some zone 2 training.
>>
>>77395428
I am in a similar boat. It feels to me like dedicating your life to lifting simply isn't worth it. You'll never be able to compete with roiders, and women don't value muscles that much anyway. Just don't be fat, have a little bit of strength, after that, the opportunity cost simply isn't worth it.

how is working out 3 times a week for an hour 'dedicating your life to lifting'. you can easily lift hard this way all your life and still have all the time in the world for everything else. why do people on /fit/ pretend that regular lifting is some big lifestyle, it isn't, most hobbies take way more time
>>
>>77397482
This. Lifting is actually the laziest most time conservative hobby there is. You can't train every day even if you wanted to (in4 roiders). And since you're training you might as well eat well and benefit.

I don't get what "I'm done" means. You still have to lift the weights to maintain. Might as well just go for new PBs and improve.

I find this disingenuous or you genuinely don’t try hard enough which is fine but I do 3 days full body no roids and after 1 - 1.5 hours of training I’m completely fried, it basically writes off the evening to recovering so I wouldn’t just call it 3 hours a week i honestly think the guys who do it in mornings and say they feel great don’t lift hard enough and roid, there’s no way.

Dude just work a cushy white collar IT job in an office or wfh.
Feeling tired and accomplished while relaxing in front of a computer sipping coffee is the best feeling ever. Lifting in the morning makes my day.
>>

Yeah. I'm not there yet, but I look at bronze era bodybuilders and think, what's wrong with that? George Hackenschmidt looks like he could snap a bitch in half. You can be plenty strong without chasing an ideal that is propped up by roids.

I do a 3 day split •2 every week and most days I'm up at 4 just to have my run of the gym. Don't ask me why but my energy is way better on the days when I get in there early. If something happens and I don't get in till mid morning or afternoon, I feel that same slog.

Samesies, kinda, graduate student doing a bunch of research. Same environment basically.

>You can't train every day even if you wanted to (in4 roiders
I'm a natty and I disagree, but I do a split I've never seen anyone else do cause I devote a day to core. Every body section gets 2 days "rest" before I hit it again. I've been making ok progress. Then again, I'm new-ish.

It's because an hour a day 3x a week, while not much in absolute terms, still threatens their cumulative tv/internet/vidya/gooning time which MUST be a solid 16 hours a day. It's not because they're actually busy or have anything better to do, you can be sure of that.

>Is full body once a week enough to maintain strength and muscle? What would that one session look like?
Hitting every muscle group in one workout is exhausting, I recommend doing an upper lower split for 2 days per week.
