From a health & fitness point of view,
Whats the best form of martial arts?
Not interested in just combat capabilities but overall health benefits.

From personal xp: Taekwondo or Karate. Best shape of my life.

Also: Kung Fu is the opposite of what everyone thinks. It's super bad for health in my xp.

Everyone claims kugn fu,e specially internal arts are useless at fighting and greta for health. In my xp, it's the opposite, you can fight with them, but they are super bad for health. May all be coincidence ofc, but my health took a nosedive when I really got into that shit and never recovered. On the plus side, I learned how to use my body weight in punching and also how to relax the muscles.

Coudl all this be done with a good boxing coach in half the time without the drawbacks? Yeah, probably. But I never found a decent boxing coach.

Anything useful i.e MMA, full contact karate, boxing, BJJ, MT, wrestling, will damage your health

The rest is an elaborate dance and you'd be better off just doing gymnastics/calisthenics/yoga

Hit a punch bag if you must

How? Assume no sparring.

Tai Chi because the combat sports get you injured. Tai Chi works to do the opposite. Neck injuries from wrestling or CTE from boxing is the opposite of health.

Judo
>intense workout
>warmups involve improving coordination with handstands, etc
>highly social: big community, lots of competition and practitioners
>practicing falling is actually good for longevity
>you don’t have to spar so you can avoid injury

Pure health? Shaolin kung fu.

It is not street ready and won't necessarily help you in a street fight but I did Capoeira on and off for a few years and that is the best martial art for keeping you in shape

It is not taught in a street-ready way though, but people that can do high-level capoeira shit are always jacked
