So I don’t expect much from this thread cause most of this board can’t even bench 2 pl8 but I’ll give it a shot

I started a new blast (800 test 400 EQ) and decided to try a “brosplit” since every decent bodybuilder did them and it’s kicking my ass

First, there is huge pressure to not fuck around to hit hard enough for stimulus.

Second, 25 sets assuming 45 sec set and 75 sec rest is 50 minutes alone if MAX EFFICIENCY. Then add 30 min cardio, then logistics, then god forbid 10 minutes for people trying to talk to you and it’s easily over 1.5 - 2 hours a day

Third, I feel like it’s high school track/football practice all over. Legs for example, I do my RDL/hack squats/calves, then have to do a second round with quality sets of hamstring curls/leg extensions/calves again and it feels like a session never ends. I’m exhausted

Despite being on 1g+ of gear, these sessions are way more intense than any PPL day I’ve ever done. I’ve had to add pink sea salt to my pre workout, insta workout drink, and even in post workout stuff because I get completely destroyed after these brosplit sessions

I already have good conditioning which is the crazy thing, also well above 2/3/4/5 strength wise but the lowest amount of reps I’ll do for a set is 10

Idk maybe I’ll get used to it. Any input? I want to compete on stage next year

divide legs between anterior and posterior, dumbshit. and how's that more difficult than what you did before? if you do PPL then you're training way more muscles at once than brosplit

What the fuck? 25 sets? Bro cut that down to like 15-18 sets per muscle on main movers and 8-10 sets for each muscle in the arms and delts since they're getting hit indirectly already on your compounds for chest and back. And that's assuming you're keeping like 2 reps in the tank per set. If you're pushing to failure on your sets then cut that volume in half. You're doing way, way too much. Reducing volume to reasonable levels alone will fix the issue

isn't there less pressure of this on a brosplit? you're hitting the same 1-3 muscle groups with like 7-8 different exercises. it would be hard not to stimulate a MPS response. to me that is like the primary advantage of a brosplit (besides recovery time)
