going to the gym for the first time after years of spreading miss information on /fit/.what am i in for?
>>773980092 weeks of DOMs, then if you get past it you will start to see modest muscle gains month by month. You will have to learn to make it a routine and come to genuinely enjoy it if you want to succeed long term. If you think you'll work out once a week for a month and explode with muscles you'll be like many others and just give up. Look at the gyms in January after dozens of people make their New Year's resolutions to work out. Then look at it in February and March. People expecting instant results and who lack patience and long term discipline nevet make it. Another class entirely of people, roiders, do get instant results, often at the expense of shortening their lifespans drastically, and then eventually realize that by going on even more gear they can make even more gains with even less effort. This is why you see these people dropping dead all the time in their 20s and 30s.Tldr: you have to make a schedule, commit to it, enjoy it, and see it as a sport. That is how you get best results.
>>77398009what misinformation did you spread?what gym are you going to?probably you'll find most people on cardio and then machines, a few guys using dumbbells, and most other equipment ignored, and not really the social third space you might be expecting.depending on the gym you may find an unskippable 1hr sales pitch for a personal trainer
