>only exercise where people claim you dont need to ever go up in weight
>heh yeah i just use 20lbs for these and im fucking gigantic
>heh yeah ive been on 20lbs for these for 15 years

i use body english and have to use 35lbs to ever feel anything in my fucking shoulder. if i use strict form and 20lbs i dont even feel my shoulder, my arms just get tired
>>
>watch GVS do them

Dumbell ohp is better

I don't understand this post or what the point of it is
>>
i don't think anyone that isn't retarded has ever said you dont need to overload lat raises

facts

Ive only been genuinely lifting for 2 years and im doing 30s for reps with relatively strict form. Being huge and spamming 20lb lateral raises just seems like cardio

Wrong. Those are for front delts and some side. Lateral Raises are for side delts and some front and rear. YWABADYEL

It's hard to increase the weight on this particular exercise without also maintaining good form. If you have good form, and you can increase the weight without compromising form, then go for it. Otherwise, more reps would get the same or better results.

imagine thinking OHP is for front delts. did you learn that from mike israel? NGMI

It's easier when you think of this exercise based on the joints rather than "the muscle" because the second you start dipping frontwards to the sagittal plane (like with heavy lat raises) you're cheating yourself. The purpose of it is to do frontal abduction from 0-90 degrees. If you want to aggressively overload something, do snatch grip presses which works the upper range.

I dont really feel ohp in front delts as much as side delts though i probably have over developed front delts proportionally. Love me some incline dumbell press and flys for front delts.

I’m finally up to 18kg (40lbs) with good form on these after being stuck on 16kg for ages. Unless you’re an absolute mass monster I don’t you can or even should go past 20kg?
