For people who aren’t fat but aren’t skinny either, should they try to put on weight first then cut or just go straight to a cut? What’s the shortest route between a starting point like this and an impressive physique?
>>77400364Cut first, lift, then gain. I've done both ways. You are better off spending time getting your diet under control first, and now convinced that diet>>lifting. As in, you can be healthy and skinny, or health and lift, but being fat is never good.
>>77400364never cutnever bulkrecompthen maingain
>>77400364Cut first. If you're a noobie lifter (<1 year experience) you can build muscle while cutting. Then when you hit your leanness goal you can maintain until you start to stall, then go on a bulk/cut cycle from there on.Also, a cut is ~300 calorie deficit. A bulk is ~300 calorie surplus. Some retards will think a bulk is an excuse to gorge themselves and will end up obese. A bulk basically means, have an extra chicken breast with dinner, not a tub of icecream. Also note: if you are on a very long cut, say, losing 30 pounds, and you are also training hard during this time, then you might start to suffer from minor injuries (hopefully they are minor and you're not ego lifting). In which case you might want to go back to maintenance until you're healed, then go back to cutting.
>>77400388I agree with this. cut but train at the same time. make gains, look better. I've cut without training and although I looked better in clothing, i didn't look better with my shirt off and I was weak af
>>77400364Stfu and just lift nigger
>>77400395Why the fuck would you go on a cut and stop training altogether if you can simply adjust your training intensity or program?
>>77400364Don’t listen to any of these retards. Start working out immediately from the lowest set of weights you can handle and track your TDE without changing what you eat for the first week, then focus on replacing those calories with more balanced macros. You can add more calories once you start leaning up or capping out on reps/progression. That will last 3 weeks.
>>77400371This. Also, skinny people can still enjoy life (walk, do pullups, go to beach, be attratcive to women) but being fat sucks. Also, if you are lean, your nutient partitioning is way mor effective, such that even if you decide to lift and eat to grow, more "growth": will be muscle that fat. That being said, you should be lifting during your cut - just be careful with your volume and frequency, since your recovery in a deficit will not be as good.
>>77400364bulk for 2 years then cut maintain lean for the rest of your life
>>77400364retarded low IQ question.1. learn how to lift r/t anatomy and physiology2. perfect ur techniques3. actually grow muscle4. then decide bulk or cut
>>77400371Absolutely wrong Run an LP like SS or SL plus accessories and cardio to intermediate THEN cutYou'll lose what miniscule muscle you have cutting first and most people will fuck around for years cutting to some misconceived weight when they could just cut for a couple months later with wayyyyyyyy better results I am NOT saying they should get fat, they just 100% FOR SURE should NOT cut first
>>77400505This. I’m 52 op and have been grinding forever. This anon is correct
>>77400364stay where you are and lift heavyyou can cut afterwards not before
