Good morning /step/!
>>
do you guys use walkpads at work or just make time to go for long ass walks during the day
>>
>>77404019
I don’t work, so I just walk all day basically
Walk pads are probably a meme, you want your body pushing off concrete or dirt for extra resistance for your bones and shit

How vacuous is your life dude, christ

I got attacked by a stray dog and he bit my thigh, broke the skin and I had to get rabies and tetanus shots.

NTA but if you can't fill your spare time without being directed what to do by Shekelstein or Noseberg then you are an NPC.
I hate that term, but sometimes it just works.
>>

If my life was truly empty, I wouldn’t be out walking to try to improve myself
I have a YouTube addiction and so I realized I could watch/listen to YouTube while walking and it would be healthy
That said. I don’t have many friends or a job at this exact moment, so I have time to do this
Life is pretty bland right now
Wellp, time for fasted morning walk !

I often see coyotes and sometimes owls on my night walks. But I have yet to be attacked.

OP here
You guys do hills right? If not find one to add to your routine
Doing flats might as well be doing nothing for me at this point. I’ve almost completely adapted to it.
I add weight to my body now with backpacks
>pic rel
A 15 minute uphill I walk to this view twice a day, sometimes
It burns

Not bad, let’s see your week so far though
>>
I miss walking. I usually get a few weeks off a year in the spring when there's no jobs to do, and I made a point to go on a walk every day during that time. I got to check out a ton of trails nearby, and was averaging about 20k steps a day. I really miss it, and I plan to do it again whenever we get a lul in work.

Was it worth it to go so hard on Thursday that your body needed a full day of rest the next day?
I find at 17k I can do this amount everyday with hill mixed in
Maybe you’re still finding your average
>>
>>77406349
Oh yeah that Friday was odd now that you mention it, but yeah it was worth it since I did shoulder presses with the kettlebell that day it was a good day
>>
>>77406311
Why not just do it after work brah
Even if you’re in construction
Just try to get 8k
>>
>>77406411
I'm still getting the steps in. I actually do work construction, so I end my workday with anywhere between 8k and 12k steps depending on the day, and then tack on another 4k after the treadmill.

What I'm really missing is the leisurely midday strolls through the woods. Something about being out in nature, alone, sometimes with a pipe or a cigar. There was a few days where there was still snow on the ground, and the dead silence between the couch of snow under my boot was amazing. I'd often just stand still and take in the silence, and I felt truly peaceful.

Also did a lot of thinking on those walks, and I had some of my best ideas/plans during that time. I thought up whole business plans, relationship stuff, and generally just reflecting on how life is going. Very rarely do I make time to think like that in my day to day life, and those walks were a good way to force those thoughts. No distractions, no noises. I'd often leave my phone in the car just for an extra layer of solitude. Can't wait to get back to that shit man.

Good evening /step/
I hit my marks today, actually I went above. And I added in pushups.
One /step/ at a time.
We’re all gonna make it brah

You’re a tue walk appreciator. Anyone who works construction and still does cardio or exercises after has my respect.
Some of the most intelligent thought I have comes from walks, or the informative podcasts I listen to while walking. Additionally, you’re just getting leaner the entire time it’s a calorie burning machine
10/10 post bro

Apparently last week I walked for over 24 hours, my god.
Once I get a full time job I won’t be able to do this, so I might as well enjoy it while I can

Yeah no shit you're not an indigenous white American.

Let me just say this so you guys dont waste your time like I did. Walking is not enough for anything, its only good for rehab. Walking didnt carry over to anything that required some actual cardio/endurance, it didnt carry over to improving my health, it didnt carry over to anything in the gym, it did fuck all. It was great when I had a lower back injury and it fixed it up but I bought into that magic and thought it would also help everything else. It didnt do shit
>>
>>77407617
I listened to that one at work last Thursday, good podcast. Working construction, I got my earbuds in 8 hours a day pretty much, and it's almost exclusively long form media (either podcasts or audiobooks). Long form media is truly a godsend for me.
>>
>>77407754
Ok well what about intense uphill walking or steady uphill? I add a heavy pack to my back loaded with water while I incline up >>77406284 this street
Am I wasting my time anon?
