hi. some of you guys may recognize me based on old posts about my dizziness.

to make it short and sweet: since 2023 non-spinning chronic vertigo, constant imbalance, a sudden falling sensation when walking, floor waving beneath my feet, retropulsion, difficulty walking downstairs or in dark rooms

doctors I have seen:
>one neurologist who diagnosed me with migraine and recommended amitriptyline, didn't take
>one neuro-otologist who tracked my eyes and didn't find much nystagmus, recommended amitriptyline, didn't take
>one neurosurgeon, who checked me for CSF leaks which I did not end up having, referred me to a cerebellar ataxia expert but I doubt anything will come of it since my mri and csf flow study was normal
>one audiologist who checked my hearing, it was normal
>one eye doctor who diagnosed me as a glaucoma suspect with subtle exotropia, which is incidental and highly unlikely related to the vertigo, so I've been told as well as based on my own research.
>one vestibular physical therapist that touched my neck and made my dizziness worse for 10 mins after, is it safe to assume my dizziness is coming from my neck?
I also have an appointment with a podiatrist at the end of the month, to see if my dizziness is somehow related to my feet or gait. I don't think it is, but I feel a lot more off balance when I am barefoot.
What other specialty am I missing? I know an ENT is a major dizziness specialized doctor but I feel like it's been well established that my inner ears function normally.
>who cares go kill yourself
I am not only doing this for myself, I know there's so many more people like me who live with chronic dizziness and don't have answers either because they lack the resources. I live in a major northeast city with generous health insurance so I have an abundance of doctors to choose from. Consider me a guinea pig.

I had a very similar thing, after getting a double infection in early 2023.
>Chronic non-spinning vertigo, nausea, chronic fatigue, constant feeling I was about to fall over when I did anything, was able to function for about an hour or so before every single muscle in my body seized up because they were all completely jacked up and tensed trying to keep my upright.
This slowly got worse for a span of about 10 months, and after a few months of vestibular coaching and occupational therapy, gradually started to improve around the 30 month mark.
>eye exam normal
>ear exam normal
>18 month waiting list to see an ENT
>MRI head normal, MRI spine normal, spinal tap normal, etc etc
My life is almost normal now, but I work 8 hours a day and sleep 12 hours a day and have no time to do anything else.
>an ent just checks your ears
They have a bunch of other tests that aren't focused on just your ears.
They have a bunch of tests they can run that can diagnose things that an audiologist can't.

I think if it's remotely possible, you should try to find somebody who does computerized dynamic posturography.

Also, if you can, record yourself walking. If possible, even a light jog. Do you actually use your arms (like do you have normal sway), or are they always reflexively in a position to stop a fall?

It's horrible that you're going through this anon, and I hope somewhere, somehow, you find a way to get better.
