When will this myth die? Here's over a weeks worth of food for me for $35, and I have frozen fruit for already at home that's $10 so 45 total..

Why do lards think it's expensive to eat healthy?
>>
>>77417164
Excuses mainly, as a subconscious bias, but they can be forgiven a bit when you remember that the first line of “health” they’re introduced to is people trying to sell them stupid unnecessary overpriced shit. Then they equate “organic” and “farm fresh” with healthy because it technically is, but they fail to consider how it’s like 5% healthier than generic alternatives whereas the canyon between those choices and their choices is enormous. Then you consider how “I can buy a family sized bag of lays for $4!” and other such cheap slop they pack full of air and nonsense and your estimate when looking at a cart like yours would make them think that’s 3-4 days-worth.

Well, there’s a couple things I’ve noticed in my weight loss journey about American food.

>A “meal” is not a meal
People have “3 meals a day” stuck in their head. They think skipping meals is an eating disorder. The problem is, in theory, a meal should be 600-800 calories (1/3 of your daily needs). But anywhere you buy a “meal,” it’s like 1,200 calories. Don’t forget the appetizers and sides. Ope, now your meal is 1,800 calories. You still got 2 more meals to eat though. You don’t want an eating disorder.

Eating out is actually pretty cheap for meal. 2-3 scoops of whey. Go to Olive Garden. Bread, salad, soup, appetizer, pasta meal, maybe desert. Hit my protein goal. Spend $30ish bucks.
Damn, $30 for “1 meal.” That sucks. Except, that “1 meal” is literally everything I need for the day. I can have an apple for breakfast, a banana for lunch, and go to Olive Garden, and I’m good. Actually, I still might even be overeating.
We’ve made food so calorie dense nowadays that we need to throw out the whole “3 meals a day” crap. It’s over. It’s done. Just let it go. Until we drastically change the American diet, OMAD is the only way. Even those box meal shits that people buy are really 2 meals in one. Anything over 900 calories is not a “single meal.” People could get away with eating 1/3rd of the food they eat now, which means they can spend 66% less on groceries.

>Drinking calories
Basically everything in your fridge that isn’t milk or water or tea is just a waste of money and calories, including “juices.” I drink espresso, water, milk, and Coke Zero. You don’t need to buy “orange juice.” Buy oranges.

>Micronutrients
Vitamins and minerals are the tricky part. It’s challenging to hit your macros and micros everyday. I just say eat a varied diet, hit your macros, and take a good, complete multivitamin to fill in the gaps. People try to eat “a little of everything” everyday so they don’t get scurvy.
>>
>>77417164
Only 3 maybe 4 cans of dines for the week?
Leaving gains on the grocery shelf brother.
>>
>>77417186
I feel like I’m making a scene or going against the grain when I order the “light” option or appetizer sized portion at restaurants with family or friends but you check any of their calorie menus and sure enough, it’s still 800-900, it’s just that every standard item is legitimately 1200+.

>>
>>77417164
didn't look a lot from the cart so I checked the numbers

5lbs rice = 2950 cal (160g protein for simplicty w/o bio availability)
1lb butter = 3250 cal
2lbs frozen broccoli = 260 cal
1gal milk = 1760 cal (130g)
4lb greek yogurt = 1500 cal (180g)
12 eggs = 850 cal (72g)
2.25lbs chicken breasts = 1225 cal (316g)
12oz sardines = 700 cal (not drained) (85g)

total:
12,500 cal = 1785 cal / day
943g protein = 134g / day

surprisingly decent for the price
If you get some variety to get your micro nutrients in then it looks fine
>>
>>77417164
If I only eat 2 entire chicken breasts in total it was a lazy day. You need to eat a variety of things so you can eat more. Steam, beef, fish, etc. If you are a shitty cook you will never get big.
>>
>>77417668
Now post the actual nutrients.

Barely any.
>>
>>77417164
>white rice
>broccoli
this would be acceptable 2-3 times per week but you are seriously missing out on nutrients and fibre without a whole grain and legume.

Yeah, duh “healthy” options at restaurants are still 600 calories (not counting your side of mashed potatoes). Don’t forget you ate 400 calories in bread sticks waiting for it to show up. Every person really has to count calories these days. You can’t survive without it. Your “light salad” has 500 calories in ranch dressing on it. Our ancestors didn’t have gigacookies that were 1,300 calories each. We just have to accept that we live in a different world.

I don’t restrict my eating when I get dinner out. I just order whatever, and I stop eating when I hit my calories. Which is controversial for some reason. If the body is a car and the stomach is a gas tank, when your belly is filled with gas, then stop fucking filling it. It’s full.

Also, if I overeat, I just subtract the calories from the next day. This is another strategy that normies consider an “eating disorder.” They can’t comprehend that it’s weekly calories that matter, and you can split up your 14,000 weekly calories any way you want.

People are always like
>Oh, I gain some much weight over the holidays, but I have to.
No you don’t retard. You ate 5,000 calories on Thanksgiving? Cool, just don’t eat on Black Friday. You’re now averaging 2,500 calories a day for the two days. Good to go.

Normies act like 1 day of fasting after gorging yourself will kill you. Not only is that not true, but fasting for 1-3 days on occasions is actually good for you.

Everything we teach normies about nutrition is wrong.

Aside from the broccoli, eggs and sardines it's not at all healthy.

Who the fuck buys fat free Greek yogurt?
>>
>>77417860
Ok
>>
>>77417164
A bit poverty tier to eat the same meal 7 days a week, not the best example. It's still possible to eat healthy for cheap without having to resort to meal prepping chicken broccoli rice.
2lb blade roast or similar. Half a dozen carrots. A few stalks of celery. An onion or two. Packet of barley (or rice). That'll make enough stew for like 6 decent portions and still works out cheap.
>>
>>77417668
and you can just eat whole milk and 5% fat greek yogurt. and throw some oats and even sugar in the yogurt. ideally some nuts or seeds too. if you want to be cheap literally ground flax and maybe some sunflower seeds can be good. like maybe 2$ per pound and it adds some nice micronutrients. i guess i am suggesting like 2$ per week extra here just to kinda round this out to like reach male calorie requitements.

>>77417930
OP said it's over a weeks worth of food...6 tits in the pack retard, that equals less than 1 breast per day. There is zero chance OP is getting enough protein to grow unless they're under 5 foot and around 100lbs.
>>
>>77418115
Hope this helps.
That package has 475 grams of protein. You can add that to the two giant tops of Greek yogurt and eggs and sardines and milk on your own.
>>
>>77418144
Here I did it for you so you don't have to waste time on a witty retort. When you add in the rice and vegetables that's another over 100 grams of protein.

If he eats everything, plus the fruit at home, he's getting approximately 150 grams of protein a day.
>>
>whole chicken $7.99
>dozen jumbo eggs $3.27
>16 oz lentils $1.99
>total = $13.25
That's enough for me for three days at about $4.42 per day and provides substantial protein and sufficient fiber.
A can of coffee lasts me about three weeks, so add about $0.33 per day. I use salt, pepper and garlic powder, and they last a long time. All in, I'm under $5 per day.
>>
>>77418176
Nice
>>
Lil bro eats less than 2 eggs a day

Are you just going straight chicken and rice? Looks pretty bland honestly. I'd at least spring for a lime or something for the rice, and some seasoning for the chicken. Won't add much to the final bill or calories as the end of the day.
>>
