I recently added boxing to my routine. I start and end my lifting season by hitting the heavy bag. I honestly feel like this is actually a necessary addition to training and I can't really explain why. Something to do with shoulder mobility and actually using my muscles for something. Anyway, how can I make the most of this? I have been working on my repeated jab endurance and hook power but I know my legwork and defense probably sucks ass.
>>77421423I always work on trying to get max power out of each punch so that when it is thrown irl you still have power even if you are more measuring distance or going for a combo.
>>77421423>can't really explain whymen evolved to kill other men and enjoy itit's why so called (((violent))) video games are so cathartic and why boys are overwhelmingly attracted to contact sports as opposed to femalesit's my the male fantasy is literally murdering home invaders with your bare hands, saving people from armed suspects, re-taking Constantinople and Jerusalem, overcoming adversity through physical strength, etc.we're hardwired to enjoy violence, this is why you like hitting the bag. embrace it
>>77421423>how can I make the most of thisits worthless if you do not learn to do it correctly. Even for a few months join a boxing or muy thai gym to learn proper technique and how to throw and kick combos. Its great cardio and develops balance and coordination and in an emergency you can defend yourself. Very important to learn elbow and knee strikes too. Then you can continue on your own.
you will soon realize that the most important thing for fighting is cardiomost people cant throw a punch, most people dont know how to control breathing+punching, just let them flail around for a while, theyll gas out, knock them
