>15 sets of squats a week to failure>5x5 of any exerciseWith everyone realizing Mentzer was right, wouldn't two or three sets be enough for a natty?
>>77433913If you're lazy and want to do 3x5 squats instead, why not follow SS?
>>77433913>wouldn't two or three sets be enough for a natty? It is that's why you do SS
>>77433913weighted squats? cause 5x5 unweighted squats is nothing. even 15x5 thats like 75 squats
>>77433913it's not to failure bro
>>77433913This is the shittiest workout split that has ever been conceived, bar none (if you'll pardon the pun).
>>77433984>If you're lazy and want to do 3x5 squats instead, why not follow SS?Are you fucking retarded? Because it's a lot of volume that will leave you drained, is not laziness.
>>77433913I used to run this until I started piling up injuries. I dialed it back to 1-2 working sets at 5rm and 3-4 warmup/back off sets for 5-10 reps. It works better.I have been working out natty for 6 months and am at 1/2/3/3 for 5 reps. The deadlifts are lagging behind because I also added pull ups and bicep curls for aesthetics and they gave me tendonitis which limits my grip strength for deadlifts.
Can someone give me a ppl based bodybuilding routineI can lift 1/2/3/4 for reps (4 or 5) as a strength baseline. Ty
>>77434397If you are already 1234 why do you need help coming up with this?Anyway I do this rn. I try and hit different variations each week. For fun, resilience, preventing wearout. Every so often I track my strength with the big conventional lifts>Arms External/internal rotationsRope face pullsAny two biceps variations with dropsets until your arms explodeEither skullcrushers or any two triceps variations until your arms explodeForearm superset of raises, curls, twists, pumps until forearms explodeThen grip training if i feel like it>LegsHinge/deadlift variationLegs/squat variationThen leg curls, extensions, calvesEither legs or deadlift come first on alternating cycles. Second lift is not so intensive.>PushChest compound variationShoulder compound variationPullovers & cable pulldownsChest or shoulder priority also switches>PullRow variationPullup variationDelt work if I feel like it Take as many or as little days off as you need>B-but that's not optimalWow incredibly incisive thank you
>>77434242You're not supposed to sustain the 5x5 indefinitely. The program is supposed to be:>start with literally only the empty bar>add weight every session according to the programming>deload upon 2 consecutive failures>if you still plateau after 2 deloads, then you deload again but reduce the volume to 3x5 for the liftIts supposed to emphasize proper form over the progression first.
>>77433913Worst program of them allYou’ll just stall instantly because the programming is complete dog shit5x5 squats lol you’ll half ass the first three to make all 5 and the moment the first sets get challenging, you’ll fail and forever stall.and sets if 5 on bench and ohp is low iq
>>77434428Oh and a bit of core after legs
>>77434397pirate Nippard's PPL routine, too many of the simple ones online don't afford things like deload weeks or perscribe RPEs
>>77434456>Deload weeks>RpeOnly faggots need that written out for them. Go as hard as you can and harder every time until you feel fatigue or an injury coming on. Work out your own sets and reps that work for you (but vary them up).
>>77433913Its fine when you're starting from an empty bar and can add weight really quickly.
who told you SS was to failure lol
>>77433913The funniest part is that reg park's 5x5 from which the middle eastern retard based his SL 5x5 on was not 5 working sets of 5 with the same weight.Reg park did a lot of sets but most of them were warmups.5 sets of 5 squats in one day is already a lot, doing it 3x a week is absolute insanity.Rippetoe's SS is far better, but still overdoing it because he insists on leaving no reps in the tank and doing 3 sets of 5 3x a week with RPE 8-10.The rep range is fine it's
>>77434502>5 sets of 5 squats in one day is already a lot, doing it 3x a week is absolute insanity. The main benefit of doing this is that it conditioned me to expect brutal workouts. On days when I can't do 5RM squats to failure, I feel like I wasted my day and didn't work out.
>>77434441>T. Didn't eat enough and stalled immediatelyMy lifts progression changed in direct correlation to whether I was drinking one 100g of oats shake per day or two. It's real.
>>77435193NTA but I did the first 6 months while on a cut and still progressed well
>>77433913It's good for complete beginners Very simple and gets their CNS conditioned to lifting weightsShould move on to a different routine after 3 months imo
