do you guys think diet soda will give avid drinkers stomach cancer?i mostly morbidly curious on what most people think cause i hear it getting thrown around a lot, even if it does i doubt ill stop drinking it cause its like one of the only things that can suppress me from wanting to binge eat on sugar stuff like a pigbut yeah tell me if you think im gonna be sent to an early grave from it or if its fear mongering or being exaggerated
>do you guys think diet soda will give avid drinkers stomach cancer?Aspartame, and its effects, have been studied extensively.Think about it like this. We live in an incredibly litigious world. If there was money in a lawsuit for aspartame causing cancer, we'd have seen it by now. Many studies on the effects of aspartame w/r/t cancer have been done to gauge the viability of a class action lawsuit against the food and beverage industry for putting aspartame into everything since 1983. 43 years later and countless studies later and there's still not even a suggestive link between it and any cancer. Ironically enough, new studies show that aspartame is cytotoxic to colorectal carcinoma cells, and patients with stage III colorectal cancer had increased chances of long-term remission when taking aspartame.Read some of the studies. The maximum safe dosage for aspartame is 50mg/kg. One packet of Equal sweetener is about 35mg of aspartame. A 180 pound human would need to eat ~116 packets of Equal a day to even approach the safe dosage. Everything is toxic in high enough concentrations but aspartame seems mostly fine.
>>77438662The idea that aspartame causes cancer is based on the fact it converts to methanol in high acid environments (like your stomach). But you require such little aspartame to sweeten a beverage that you’ll never produce a meaningful quantity of methanol
>>77438682>>77438688Ok so that's a no then. Why do so many normies shit on monster and other energy drinks, they often say it's either the sugar content or effects of artificial sweeteners?
>>77438713>"why are normies retarded?"
>>77438713There's more in those drinks than "aspartame" and there are far greater number of negative side-effects than "possible cancer."
>>77438713>muh normies
>>77438722Caffeine, taurine, ginseng, b vitamins...Where's the problem?
>>77438662you are what u eat, I have an instinctual feeling that drinking undigestable slop clogs up some form of the natural processes in your body. maybe it fucks up your mitochondria maybe it's bad for your liver. Maybe it makes you immortal but I try to avoid eatinh anything that people didn't eat 250 years ago. Also bread is slave food
>>77438777>Also bread is slave foodwrong, whole oats and grains like rice are. Bread is processed, and is at least middle worker food. Cold soaked whole grains and porridge slop are slave food.
>>77438780you're eating grass seed brother, leave it for the field animals, get your carbs from roots and fruit
Ive heard it has something to do with people who took certain medicines and got certain stomach bugs back in the 1990s as kids that causing the higher rates for people in their 30s/40s nowSomething like changes to the colon during childhood from antibiotics or whatever + stomach flus/bugs that perma-fucked the digestive system
>>77438750Sips don't have aspartame in them it's erythritol, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium. Erythritol causes blood lost apparently. Idk about the others.
The worst thing that diet drinks can do is give you the shits if you drink too much of them. Also make you piss like a racehorse if you're using them to curb cravings.
>>77438713There are different sugar substitutes that have different effects, some of which have been proven harmful.
>>77438893>Erythritol causes blood lost apparently. He means blood clots
>>77438662anything with "zero" or "diet" is actually worse than sugar. still sustains parasites with an added bonus of synthetic neurotoxin. you need to expel parasites and toxins to be healthy.

>>77438750People with underlying heart conditions are the ones that die from drinking energy drinks and the retards start assuming that everyone can die from them. >>77438903Long term they "might" fuck up your gut microbiota and allegedly microbiota rules your epigenetics, but current studies on something that hard to control are just superficial.
>>77438662>stomach cancerIf it did, it would be from the carbonation and acids irritating the lining of the stomach, not from the artificial sweeteners or lack of sugar.
>>77438662I know someone in their 40s with no teeth because they never drink water. Literally never.

>>77438662>do you guys think diet soda will give avid drinkers stomach cancer?I'll give you a hard /sci/entific answer of MAYBE. Picrel. You can look up the studies, but I would not really bother; don't be a bigly consoomer of it and do some kinda low-toxicity OTC prophylactic chemos.
