Is Starting Strength still the best program for beginners?
>>77445022No.
Didn't dis nigga do a terrorism
>>77445022No, it has and always will be summer strength and conditioning with your bros on the football team
>>77445022depends on your goals. If you're trying to get as strong as possible as fast as possible, and don't give a shit about how you look, it's goated. >>77445030yea lol
if i never got into sports in high school id look exactly like this im sure
>>7744504318+ website btw
Yes. It won't do much for aesthetics but if you have no lifting base at all you need to actually start getting a little strong before you worry about other stuff.>How strong do I need to get?1/2/3/4 + 5 chin ups (with perfect form). This is a modest goal that any healthy male should be able to achieve unless they're like sub 140 lbs. If you can't do these things you are weak and will just fart around and spin your wheels if you try to run a bodybuilding program. Once you can do these things you have a basic understanding of how to lift with intensity and can switch to whatever other program you want. Also, you don't need to bother with the power cleans in the Starting Strength program, just swap them with barbell rows. Keep everything else the same.
it never was. beginner does best on high rep
SS + GOMAD will make you into a domestic terrorist
>>77445264how much fapping do i have to do for the forearm gains to hold a 4plt deadlift. i think my legs and back are strong enough desu
If I were telling someone who was actually motivated to follow through with strength training, I would tell them to use the blue book for form, phrak's gzclp for programming (novice powercleans i shiggy diggy) until they have to deload 2 or 3 times, do 30 minutes of zone 2 cardio after their strength session, track and weight their food and make sure to hit 1+g/lb bw protein, ~35g fats/day and 60-X carbs/day (where x is the amount needed to hit maintenance) if they're maintaining or losing weight, or up to as much as ~60g fats/day (preferably ~40ish) and whatever carb intake hits ~150-250 kcal surplus/day if they're trying to gain muscle. If you're superstitious, take a multivitamin, creatine, fish oil, d3, calcium, and magnesium.picrel, ecclesiastes 8:13

>>77445022>Is Starting Strength still the best program for beginners? If your goal is to get good at deadlifting, squatting and benching, then yes, it is a good program. If your goals are more oriented towards aesthetics or longevity, then no.
>>77445818>>Is Starting Strength still the best program for beginners?>If your goal is to get good at deadlifting, squatting and benching, then yes, it is a good program. If your goals are more oriented towards aesthetics or longevity, then no.you dont have to do this
No, everyone learned it sucks. It's like a 15 year old meme routine for neckbeards who think getting abs and having big arms is for normies. only do it if you're gonna become a powerlifter.
>>77445022
>>77445264>405lbs deadlift>5 fucking chinupsAsk me how I know you are fat lmfao
>>77445024>>77445818>>77448151Ok so what is a good routine for aesthetics
This shit was always a troll to push people down a powershitter pipeline>YOU NEED TO DO SS + GOMAD + EAT 10,000 CALORIES A DAY OR YOU WILL NEVER GROW>NO ISOLATION ALLOWED, NO BICEP CURLS ALLOWED, NEVER GO ABOVE 5 REPS, NO CARDIO, NO AB WORKOUTS ALLOWED, ONLY SQUATS, DEADLIFTS AND EAT LOTS OF OATSYou would be better off going to the gym with ZERO knowledge of anything and just copying what other people at the gym are doing and experimenting with different exercises and rep ranges since newbie gains happen no matter what you're doing as long as you're consistent and put in the effort.Or sign up for a gym and get one of the trainers to show you the ropes and build a beginner program for you.The internet is the shittest place for lifting advice because you get powershitters trying to troll you into becoming one of them and lazy retards who spend all day scrolling youtube fitness shorts instead of going to the gym trying to convince you that doing less is more, or a combination of both.In this space the more you learn the dumber you become, because lifting weights isn't fucking hard, it isn't rocket science, you literally just lift weights until you can lift heavier weights and it's that fucking simple
>>77448199100%
>>77448172Probably whatever gets you the strongest?
>>77445264>1/2/3/4>5 chinupsYou fat fuck
>>77445264Losers making fun of 5 chinups guarnateed to do loser version of half reps.Staryting Strength is what EVERYONE should do unbtil they exhaust the novice oinerar progresion. Its the fastest way to build the needed strength to 1) mog 80% of average gymgoers 2) build the muscle/tissue necessary to subsequently focus on getting massively big or massively strong, if thats your goal goal 3) get a solid undratdning of programming and technique so that you are eductaed enought to wisely choose your next, intermediate traing program. There are some similar novice programs (Stronglifts, Grey Skull, etc.) but they are so similar to SS as to be the same thing. SS has the best supplementary learnign materials to properly eudcate and the best book on the subject - "Starting Strnegth"For advanced bodybuilders, athletes or powerlifters? No. For all noobs or weaklings who cant hit 1,2,3,4? Yes. Absolutely.
>>77445022>pays to train under "flies his wife out to cuck conventions" riptoe>gets turned into a meme>goes full communist and gets sent to prison for decadesHeh
>>77450024What kind of simpery is thisHoly fuck
>>77450012Starting strength is complete garbage dude, its a trash 16 year old piece of crap. Getting beginners to low bar squat 3 times a week is dumb as hell. It neglects arms, abs, cardio and everything else important, it's a piece of garbage. its 2026 bro
>>77448172SS is still an EXCELLENT routine for aesthetics. If we all agree that building muscle is required to become our definition of "aesthetic" then you need to get strong in the basic lifts that are outlined in SS. This training will give you the much needed muscle mass needed to be aesthetic. Curls and Chins (for arms) ARE part of the SS program, which you only know if you read the fucking book.If after completing the SS program your body is still lacking obvious aesthetic bodyparts, which due to you unique genetics or anthropometry did not grow during the 4-8 months you spent doing the SS program (that's how long it takes to properly do the program) , you can then address that in your intermediate programming phase. Which comes AFTER you run out SS.You DO NOT KNOW what body parts you want to emphasize as a noob; you DO NOT KNOW what body parts on you will need additional work/attention/training as a noob. You are too weak to look aesthetic as a noob. Finally, your diet will have the greatest effect on aesthetics, after building the requisite amount of muscle. Follow a sensible diet: just to be clear - your diet is NOT part of the SS program. Just eat well enough to grow and gains strength and dont become fat.Aestehtics require a certain amount of muscle; muscle requires growing in strnegth; SS gives you the strnegth skills and tools needed to become aestheitc MUCH FASTER that other random programs, esp ones that you make up on your own. Programming is much more than mere exercise selection.

Yes
>>77445803>1+g/lb bw protein, ~35g fats/day and 60-X carbs/dayYou're seriously retarded
>>77445022>Is Starting Strength still the best program for beginners? The principle is fine, but you'd be better off doing a program like Greyskull LP so you don't work out your legs excessively compared to your upper body. And add some extra back, abs and bench work/triceps and you've got a solid program.

>>77445022His dietary advice will give you diabetes and his "standards" are ridiculous + he roids to be a fat, hypertensive jackass, but it's still the best "Starting" "Strength" program out there. I would put in chin-ups earlier than he does it, but whatever. It's almost entirely because he includes the power clean but facts are facts. A lot of the logic also does make sense, because you do need to bench at least 225lb to get a BIG chest unless you're content on being 140lbs lean. >>77445803I thought this guy would be more intelligent from all the hype but I listened to an interview with him and it was the most textbook boomerisms ever. He literally said (verbatim) that compounds don't do anything. You can't get dumber than that.
